So true! I always have to fold the ends of my jeans every time I wear them. My non-denim bottoms need to be taken to the tailors too. As for tops, clothing choices for petite plus-sized women are horrendous.

At least the mall tailor I found is pretty cheap. le sigh

YES woot shirt and jeans have become my go-to lab uniform now. We could totally be wearing the same outfit right now.

The other end sucks (tall fat girl). WE ARE EVEN MORE MARGINALIZED THAN THE MARGINALIZED!

I'm 5'8, so not short by any stretch of the imagination, but I find it almost impossible to find pants that fit me through the waist, hips, and thighs that aren't several inches (and occasionally as much as a foot) too long. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be for women was are actually short.

Anybody else think the VMA's are now just awards for being successful in radio friendly teen music? I mean I guess they always were, but now it seems really obvious that if you go platinum and show up you'll probably get something.

"Role", "you".

A Hearst just used the hashtag '#BANGERZ'. Please let this mean Carlton's coming back.

Good question Adrianne. Do you remember when MTV was all music videos? And then it went down to like two hours twice a day. And now none? I feel like the VMAs are entirely about youtube at this point.

Hmmm....I believe it was actually Yoko Ono (a Japanese American) who coined the phrase that Erykah Badu is referencing. Lennon (an Englishman) said it was inspired by James Connolly (an Irish socialist.) So we've got so much appropriation going on here that my head has exploded.

As someone whose thighs have touched since age 12, let me just say: Body Glide. It is A Miracle, for wearing skirts and dresses in the summer! Looks like a deodorant stick, but you just swipe it on any chafe-y bits and it's...I don't know, Teflon? and your thighs just smoothly swoosh on past each other. And yet it

I have a friend who said someday she is going to open a store called "short and fat, I like it like that!" I thought it was a glorious idea, every city needs one.

Are you me? Am I you? What is this insanity????

I recommend Macy's. Check out the JM Collection plus sized stuff. It's what I wear to teach physics.

It is way worse being fat and tall. They do not make any pants anywhere when you are a size 22 and 6". Does. Not. Happen. At least you can tailor! Nah, really, we're in the same sucky boat. Let's average our height!

Target is the worst, in my experience. I've never found plus-size clothing there that even remotely compares to sizing elsewhere. I'm convinced that there 18s are 14s or something, and that their tops are designed for twinks.

With the time it took my mom to make one skirt for me (admitedly, we were basing it off a skirt we could not find after loving an ad of it) we declared "yeah, no more of that". I do like sewing home decor though.

The Macy's in my local mall put their plus-size section DIRECTLY ACROSS from the Juniors' section. I think I'd be happier if it were down in the basement by the luggage, honestly. I suppose I could shop elsewhere, but for basic shit, Macy's is great. Between coupons and sales, I have never, ever, paid full price for

oh my gosh, best story ever

I rode with Tim Gunn in an elevator once and he pet my dog and then complimented her collar and I almost hugged him. I didn't but only because he looked so clean pressed and I had just come from a run.
