I saw my first PHEV in the wild last weekend. I was actually shocked. It has the proportions of a full size SUV that’s been hit with a 80% shrink ray. I couldn’t decide if that made it cool or useless. It has 3 row seating, but seemed too small for 3 rows to be good. But maybe I’m being too harsh.

It is a pretty bike isn’t it? I think it will be best to keep it close to period correct going forward. I don’t want to ruin it.

I rebuilt my engine when I hit 100k miles. The Bosch system is the only original part on it. I replaced the variable timing solenoid and a couple sensors, but otherwise it’s held up pretty well.

When I’m at the Velodrome, I usually have to borrow a 650c bike if I want a good fit. For the Peugeot, I’m just going to live with it. It’s a bike I always wanted, so I’ll do what I have to. It’s not my primary bike anyway. I built a new Giant Defy Advanced. It’s a size small frame, and it fits perfectly.

I work at USC, and my girlfriend works at Warner Bros., so I typically ride to her office after work in the summer. It’s a nice 15-20mile ride depending on which route I take.

It’s a 50 cm frame, but I have ridiculously short legs for someone who’s 5'6". Peugeot didn’t make a 49cm for this model, so I make it work the best I can. I have raised it a little since this photo was taken though.

I’d love to build up an unused vintage frame someday.

Definitely! And I’m 220lb, so add my fat ass to the lousy gearing. I start at USC campus, so I’m 8 miles in before I start the real climb.

Thanks! I’ve had the Alfa since 2005, and it was my DD for the first 7 years. Drove the wheels off it. I keep meaning to go to Radwood, but I literally forget until the morning of every single time.

I had 5 about a month ago. Then I had a moment of sanity and put one out on the curb for whoever wanted it. It was gone in 3 minutes.

Thanks! Pure Cycles has an imitation paint job too. I almost bought one. But in the end, I’m a glutton for punishment. Everything I own has to be 30 years old and a pain to work on.

I new exactly where this was going when I read the title. I fell into the same trap. I always wanted an old Peugeot bike, and I had these crazy plans to make the ultimate retro race bike. Well, I got the bike, a 1988 Bordeaux, and started looking for parts. Nothing really fit, at least nothing I wanted. There are some

Connected to the road? I am appalled. As a Camry owner, your only acceptable phrase should be, “grounded to the ground.”

I was just thinking that. The photos make it look far better than a new Camry.

We’ll find out for sure in a few days. But i’m not liking what I’ve see so far. The lower fascia trim and the grille are both ugly to me.

And I’m fine if a winner laps the entire field. It’s super impressive. But I’m not going to pretend they were the greatest races ever. Part of what made Senna so impressive was his ability to decimate the field. Doesn’t make for close racing though. The 70s, 90s, 00s, and 10s all had closer racing for the win on

It looks more like a lifted Taurus to me, but I doubt Ford was very eager to revive the Taurus-X nameplate.

I understand why people like the old noise, but I’m fine with the current technology. My complaint is with the length. The wheelbase on a modern F1 car is the same as a F-150 Supercrew. I think it looks awkward, makes passing harder, and makes the car so stable that a lot of the high speed corners are too easy to

The average margin of victory throughout the 80s was almost 24 seconds. The 2000s saw an average of 9.9. 2010-2019 might be even closer. So it makes me wonder how loud and more dangerous is better than closer racing. I mean, I don’t especially like the current cars either, but at least the past 20 years have had close

Maybe it will be amazing to drive, but after looking at it, I don’t really care. We’ve been driving a Ford Focus EV for four years, and even that looks sportier than this thing. I sold my Mustang a year ago, and I was hoping the Mach-E would be a good replacement for the Focus sometime next year. I have a feeling
