But do you have the technology to reforge it better, stronger, faster? Anduril, the Six Million Dollar sword.

I always pictured Valyrian steel as looking like Damascus steel.

Agreed

I was going to post this if nobody else did.

I'll back your vote for anything made by Masamune, especially if it is this one.

Someone is going to say it, so it might as well be me. The Sword of a Thousand Truths. The only way to kill that which has no life.

Oh, just remembered Walking Tall! He needs more of those!

Aw, just looked it up and found that I was wrong. I thought there was a scene where he literally hands The Rock a torch. Too bad, that would have been great. I'm not sure whether The Rock has more charisma than Arnold or not, that kind of thing is hard to quantify and Arnold is/was such a force 80s/90s action movies,

I think that The Rock is as close as we've come to This Generation's Schwarzenegger, but he hasn't been utilized properly. Maybe the era has passed.

I was thinking more along these lines. You can't tell me that anything this creepy isn't responsible for at least a few murders.

In no way do I want to get into a gun debate, that being said, when a human uses a gun to kill another human, we still refer to gun-related deaths. I would argue that, despite a lack of AI, this could still be classified as the first robot-related death. Until, of course, we find out that those creepy, old-timey

That's what I thought (that they were the same cryptid). I was a bit confused to see both listed as separate creatures. Thanks for the clarification.

  • Can you read my mind? Do you know what it is that you do to me? I don't know who you are. Just a friend from another star. Here I am, like a kid out of school. Holding hands with a god. I'm a fool. Will you look at me? Quivering. Like a little girl, shivering. You can see right through me. Can you read my mind? Can

I'm not sure I agree that this would be a good show, but I do agree that if they are going to go for it, BBC is the way to go.

Good point. I am probably in the minority, but I remember when Lord of the Rings came out, I was incredibly disappointed in the casting. They got Gimli right, but let's face it, that was probably costuming more than anything else, and I was very pleased with Samwise.

That said, while King may be one of the most popular authors, his movie adaptations are really hit and and miss. If they are going to do this and have it turn out to be anything but cheesy, they would have to pull out all the stops.

Never would have thought of Hugh Laurie, but now that you mention it, I can really see him pulling it off.

Count me in. If Hollywood can't give us "this generation's Schwarzeneggar," I'll just go see last generation's. Really, it doesn't get any better than this.
