From a productivity standpoint, a buggy early build is not useful. If I had enough time to slog through the code and fix it i'd contribute, but alas I was hoping for a text editor that would be more efficient than my current choice so that some day I could have enough time to contribute to projects such as these..

I was disappointed that this was OSX only. I see that they have Windows and Linux support on the roadmap, but I fear that it will be "Soon"™

I'm still adjusting with the whole recycling thing. We just moved. In the previous town we lived in, the only things they'd recycle was 1/2 plastic, newspaper, and cans. They wouldn't even take glass! (It was a college town and I am sure the bars generated significant amounts of glass that ended up in the landfill).

In my opinion, when you build a new machine, you should have a clear picture of an upgrade path. If you build a machine that is a dead end upgrade-wise, then you already know when its time to build a new machine. If you play out your upgrade fantasy with your box and the price is greater than 1/2 the cost of a new

I like to buy whole chickens. I part them out to breast/thigh/leg&wing and bag em. The leftovers I bag. When I get 2-3 bags of chicken guts, I toss em in my pressure cooker, browse the crisper for any suitable veg that doesn't look like it should stay in the fridge much longer and toss it in. I chuck an onion cut in

Its really clever marketing. They are essentially selling DLC, but giving you a figurine with every DLC purchase. If you looked at it from the "How much more game am I getting for my dollar?", you might feel like the additional content isn't worth it, but tossing the figure in causes you to treat it as the thing you

This still suffers from the problem of uneven heating. I recommend forming the butter into a perfect sphere before microwaving it to avoid the corners melting.

I recently bought a house. Here is a list of the things I paid for (above and beyond the monthly house payment of principal and interest)

If you look at a house as an investment, you are likely to not get a very good return.

No, this discussion was fun.

No, I just disagree with people when they say stupid things.

You know... I also work in the tech industry.

The terms ARE bullshit because startups are misusing the term. As tech marketing jargon, i agree that disruptive means practically nothing.

Disruption is an interruption in business as usual. Big change doesn't have to be disruptive. We can have massive growth and change in an industry, but that doesn't mean disruption. Disruption is when business as usual gets a wrench in it and the system as it previously stood doesn't function as it did before. If

If the players don't get shaken up, it wasn't disruptive. It was just innovation. Disruptive innovations DISRUPT business as usual.

You are putting a lot of words in my mouth. I said "a better gas station".

I agree, nothing is perpetually disruptive. Apple's app store isn't disruptive anymore. There are plenty of other people running self publish app stores now.

It wasn't disruptive to the cell phone industry. Yes, it changed things, but it didn't disrupt anything. The smartphone helped the cell phone industry more than anything else. Before the smartphone, people bought a phone and used it until it broke, now every product cycle, people are scrambling to get the newest and

Yes, the App store is just a digital storefront for mobile apps... Digital storefronts for mobile apps aren't really disruptive anymore... Digital markets (like the app store, steam, etc) are disruptive to retail software industry, but I don't think that disruption is what you are talking about.

As for your app store question: It is a disruptive business model, not a disruptive innovation.
