Boot time isn't that important for an antivirus. The read latency created by real-time virus protection is much more interesting than how long it takes for something to load.

I'm a firm believer in this. The buildup to buying something is sometimes enough to satisfy my desire for a thing that I don't want it when the waiting period is over. Its not like it was a bad purchase or anything... sometimes, I just want stuff.
I think that other possibilities should have existed. Yes, the writers did provide ample excuse for why the single course of action was necessary, but I feel like it was bad writing, not letting the player choose something else.
Yes, I agree, GTA has never been a pure sandbox. I just feel like the railroad approach is lazy narrative.
I agree to a degree. There is a great many people who "want to be offended" by this. At the same time, rejecting the criticism outright because of this seems a bit narrow minded.
When you have to explain the joke and people don't get it, that is usually a good indicator that it is a bad joke.
My family's first computer was an Apple ][c. I remember playing on it when I was in kindergarten. I believe my father bought it when it was new.
I sometimes wear certain clothes to see if people mind... most of them are far too polite to do so.
GTAO isn't going to be a MMO, it will be an instance based sandbox game with up to 16 players in the world at a time.
No, they don't have to block HTTPS. Nor do they need deep packet inspection. They need a root CA that your computer trusts and a proxy server.
Yes, as I said, the difficulty depends on the circumstance. it isn't always true.
I wouldn't say that. It depends on the company and the IT folks involved.
I use remote desktop. I'm usually pretty lucky and RDP isn't blocked on the network.
We use a parchment paper base and spring-form pans. Works every time.
I follow the Joy's Pancake recipe, slightly modified.
I used to be able to up and away in 15 mins or less (20 if I took a hurried shower). Now, with a boy that needs breakfast and some sit down time, it usually takes about an hour.
I've always wondered, with the wealth of street data available, why don't they make more of these sandbox car games in real cities?
I will agree. A little padding is a good thing, if you can manage it. Saving 6 months worth of income when you are buried is crazy talk though. I don't think it should be a priority though.
"No Acid" was a rule that I didn't learn in the beginning and I was always confused when my Cast Iron always seemed to be in a bad mood.
I have a natural bristle scrub brush that I use to clean my Cast Iron. I put it into an empty sink and turn the faucet on hot and use the brush to scrub it clean, then I put it on the stove and heat it until it's dry, then a quick rub with oil and the job is done.
