I think that undue stress is placed on the "Emergency Fund"

Whenever possible, I avoid killing cows when making steak, and when practical, I use vegetables grown on the moon.

I have a Nokia 920. If you google a bit, you can find the Service Manual. I've worked with various current Nokia models, and have found them all to be quite repairable.

No exceptions! EVER! My current generation smartphone is easy to repair.

I had already stated that NONE of the items on the list are applicable to me.

I never said that there is nothing I can do. I've done a dramatic turnaround in my life. I was just explaining that "All the financial advice you'll ever need" is pretty worthless to the likes of me. I made a lot of bad choices when I was young and it pretty much ruined me from a credit perspective.

I was a dumb college kid and I got buried in debt. I've almost clawed my way out, but I've still got a lot to go. I can't afford a 401k, mutual funds, securities, etc. I can't afford to leave 20% of my income off the table. My credit is trashed, and nobody will even give me a credit card. I don't have a savings

Agreed. I think that a HS level course in basic accounting would be a great addition to the "required" curriculum. It would likely leave a lot of people understanding a lot better how money works.

If you are in a position to follow this advice, it is very likely that you are not having financial difficulties.

I thought there were a number of national registries. If they can get MS, Google, etc to share their records, it should be simple to get Blizzard, Valve, EA, etc to share theirs.

I think it's pretty obvious what Peach is doing. She's tucking a tag for the Trainer. Girls gotta look out for each other.

I've worked with a couple of Rural wireless ISPs in the Great Plains area. Folks like us are actively working to solve your problem. There is a lot of area to cover, so it's gonna take some time. The company I'm currently working with is aiming to provide 4-8mbps connections covering a few counties. Right now

Sometimes "Things worth doing take time" is true, sometimes it is not. In the venn diagram of things, "Things that take time" and "Things worth doing" intersect, but not all things worth doing take time.

The "Archimedes method" is a true hack to get this done. It doesn't require any additional equipment, complicated procedure, and requires little additional effort.

I have one of these. They function as advertised and require little effort to clean up. If you regularly handle these sorts of ingredients, it is a good buy.

Making the assumption that things that take time are worth doing can be a dangerous one. Sometimes, things that take time are inefficient versions of things that are worth doing. Sometimes, things that take time are a waste of it.

My previous response was a bit sarcastic. I'm not the sort to appease my children with such things. My son is 2, and he does a pretty good job entertaining himself on long car rides. We typically like to time them so they align with a nap so he doesn't have to go the whole trip awake.

My childhood was very similar.

I like that there are both positive and negative nicknames for the Xbox One. It makes it super easy to signal sarcasm.

I'm very confused by the idea of job hopping. I've never quit a job because I was bored of it or felt like I had been there too long. Whenever I've changed jobs it is because a job (that I wasn't looking for) came up that was better than my current one, or I wasn't necessary anymore.
