I loved those, I had the one about his speed shoes! Thank you for reminding me of a very pleasant memory I had forgotten!!

Sorry about being late to reply, Kinja hasn’t been showing me notifications until today for some reason.
For some reason, I just saw this notification on Kinja.. Anyway, I am sure this isn’t the case. It would be completely foolish of them to attempt to run a global game from literally ONE server, considering that they already run Ingress and this is not the case. It may LOOK like a single server, but they are likely…
Oh and the WoD launch issues that weren’t connected to Lizard Squad! Those took a couple days to iron out too!
I am sure that the data usage is rather negligible, should be the authentication at the beginning, loading the map from GMaps and then some synchronization pings to ensure that your game world matches the server every so often. I’d think the biggest data use would be the PokeStops and Gyms for loading the pictures…
Your phone may not support the features needed for the AR Camera. It seems the camera makes use of the Gyroscope, and the AR camera cannot work without it. They should make this more transparent to the player though.
Have you not heard of distributed computing, load balancing and clustering? I can assure you, they are not stupid enough to use a single server (single physical server with a hypervisor maybe, but not literally a single server). The server you speak to, may in turn speak to others and so forth. Off they could be…
People in the GO subreddits are likely many of the same side loading. I know I voiced the same opinion and was treated rather poorly, some entitled assholes even going so far as to state that they didn’t do enough testing. How the hell are you going to test well enough to handle the entirety of the Pokemon fanbase,…
What’s happening is likely that the Pokemon you attempted to capture broke free, by due to connection troubles, you can’t see that until you reload the game, but by reloading, you forfeit the battle you were in. If you had successfully captured the Pokemon on that throw, it would have been in your pokemon.
I’ve been telling this to literally everyone I knew I don’t think either Nintendo nor Niantic accounted for the huge player base of Pokemon, both child and adult. Which led to them underestimating the sheer demand for the game and the audacity of the people chomping at the bit to get in.
This, I have a nephew who repeatedly cheats in online games. I’ve lectured him tons of times but he doesn’t see any problem in what he does, yet it never seems to be his fault for getting him banned.
This killed me. I could sooo see the pope doing this.
You actually can, there’s a local system security policy that can be found via gpedit.msc or the Local Policy snap-in for MMC that allows you to rename the built-in administrator account.
Most boards do not come with an OS preloaded, for example, the Raspberry Pi requires an SD Card that you download and copy the OS of your choice and firmware onto before you boot it up the first time. You don’t need JTAG connections (although you CAN do so for debugging the hardware I believe).
Twilight will probably cause issues as it’s a color filter layered over your screen, whereas CF.Lumen’s driver changes the color temperature that the kernel uses for the display. I’m going to assume that you will notice no real change using CF.Lumen, well, aside from Play Books trying to change the color temperature…
No, the reason you could import memory cards was because of the original models which shipped with a hardware version of the PS2’s chipset that was used for backwards compatibility called the Emotion Engine. For all intents and purposes, no emulation was going on and the Cell processor was not doing any work there as…
This has to be one of the best articles I have ever read over the entirety of the Kinja network. Very well done!
Tomorrow? I think I’m finally upgrading both my Pis to Jessie tonight! Tried it a while ago before it was pronounced stable and it broke literally everything, but still ran pretty fast (it broke some system processes and some server processes I had installed, but it was nothing too major.)
This is pretty awesome, looks like the same thing they did back with Windows XP Home and Pro to convert those editions into WMC Edition. Tuner probably won’t work without the BDA framework which may or may not be supported on Windows 10 still though. :(
You really should play at least Dream Drop Distance, Birth by Sleep and 358/2 Days. All three of those are canonized as main story games and you’ll be missing out on a lot of the story. Birth By Sleep is a prequel, 358/2 Days happens in between KH1 and 2 and is about Roxas and the Organization’s work during that…
