I had to double check to make sure, but yet it's true. It can run on pure electric without the generator on, but once it runs out, the generator kicks in, that's how they get their numbers. It's not driving the wheels, but it's still running so you can get legit city/hwy/combined numbers.
Technically the Volt isn't a standard Hybrid. The motor in there acts as a generator, it doesn't drive the wheels. I'm not saying it's any better (especially since a diesel generator is more efficient... ), I'm just saying it's a bit different.

Yeah that's what I thought you meant, but unfortunately you are mistaken. Pressure, yes. Compressed, no. Liquids, in general, are incompressible. That's how hydraulics work.
Hmmm, how many days would it take a conventional garden hose at typical pressure to fill that beast up? Might be easier to go to Niagara Falls.
