Ok, so no one has any idea how to change or disable the key bindings (j, k, arrows, etc) here on the Lifehacker site. I'm determined enough to begin digging through the code, but does anyone have any ideas what I should be looking for in terms of javascript commands that initiate key bindings? I'm rather a novice at

Does anyone have any new news on disabling the j/k bindings for this site?

I'm a bigger fan of quizlet, personally. They have a great offering of ways to get the flashcards into the system, and once they're in there, offer a variety of different ways to study and learn them. (quizlet.com)

A potential greasemonkey branch/substitute: Scriptish. More info at gHacks: [www.ghacks.net]

Agreed. A sideways scroll, which is unfortunately very easy to hit when trying to scroll down, does the same thing. Very frustrating indeed. -,-

Happy Friday everyone!

Functionality, without a doubt. I can generally figure out how to use even a bad interface, even if it takes a bit of work - but if you can use it, but it doesn't do what you want it to do, it's useless.

Alternatively, you can always just use the hotkey to bring up ditto, and quit it from there, instead of killing the process.

Another possibility instead of leaving the to, etc. fields blank - if you put an @ on the beginning of any email address in the to field, gmail will throw an error and not let you send it to any of the recipients. Great when you don't want to go find the email again later.

Not to mention that offline doesn't save you the minute you're connected to the internet and it syncs to have nothing.

For anyone who has greasemonkey and wants to get rid of it, try this on for size:

I create regular backups on my external HD, but the vast majority of my functionality mods are based in autohotkey; just install that, load up my main script (an adapted autoInclude, featured here!), and keep on trucking. :)

I really only use google from the firefox awesomebar, via keyword bookmark. Unless they come out with a way to use it from there (if they do, I'll be impressed), I guess nothing changes on my end.

Tree style tabs (firefox extension, moves tabs to the left of the window and allows nesting) does wonders for me. I rarely end up with so much as a scroll bar there, especially since I can just collapse a tree of tabs if I need.

FFixer for Greasemonkey ([userscripts.org]) also has this functionality built-in, along with a host of other features. My personal favorite is the hotkeys for navigation. :D

@Chaim Chaikin: It does block it...which is kind of a problem for an avid altdrag user. Although it may be a bug, adding another modifier sometimes loosens its hold...maybe it's still workable?

@mahimahi42: The link's there...sort of. Mouse over it, and you'll see what I mean. I don't know what happened, but there's like 4 urls in that link...You guys might wanna fix it.
