Oh, I know.
Oh, I know.
The reworking isn’t enough for me. I don’t think they really put in all that much effort. So I go by the Virtual Console’s pricing system. $10 for N64 games and $20 for Wii games. GCN games were never on there but I figure $15 would be fair. So, 10+15+20 = $45.
That comment isn’t “backpedaling.” It’s a reinforcement of my acknowledgement that Nintendo isn’t going to be selling the game in two years, an acknowledgement I made... in the original post. I make that acknowledgement again, and add a little more detail, in the rest of the “backpedaling” comment
Oh, I gave up on the wish before I even posted the comment, considering Nintendo already said it would be a limited release and their recent history with pricing.
Yeah, I also said
Look, it’s not like all the Luigi-related releases during Nintendo’s Year of Luigi marketing event were sold during that year only, right? It’s purely FOMO. The anniversary is just being used to justify it, but I’m calling it out for what it is.
Sounds like a threat. Not from you, to be clear. And I see what you’re saying but you don’t really mean “cheap.” You mean “RELATIVELY cheap.” Also, you’re comparing prices from two different markets.
A game being overpriced is bad enough. Being overpriced AND only being available to purchase within a limited time is a load of horse crap.
I’ve split hairs over less than that, actually. As a consumer, I choose where to draw the line on anti-consumer BS. I’m not sure I would’ve said anything had they priced the game at $50, though I still would’ve had a problem with it.
Oh, it won’t be sold in 2 years?
It is true that many Switch games, even first-party titles, eventually get dropped to $50. It’s always for a limited time but it does happen quite often.
As a consumer of Nintendo’s goods for 30+ years, it most certainly is.
Maybe if there were some substantial changes being made to the games, I’d consider the increased price but the limited release window would still be BS.
*consumer
First of all, it’s not the version with Super Mario World.
Here’s a secret:
My parameters stand.
No, I might as well NOT participate in the anti-consumer BS.
Oh, I don’t actually expect to get this game considering the slim-to-none chances my parameters have.
The parameters I set were hyperbolic, clearly.
