In English context hentai is what you stated, but in Japan it isn’t necessarily: “変態 【へんたい】 (n,vs,adj-no) (1) transformation; (2) abnormality; (3) (abbr) (See 変態性欲) sexual perversion; pervert; (4) {biol} metamorphosis; (5) {chem; physics} transformation; transition; modification”

Bulbapedia doesn’t seem to mention this, but Purrloin takes a few design cues from 1970s Yatterman villain, Doronjo

So I was recently looking to see what new light novels and manga I needed to catch up on after several years of not buying any, and as far as I could tell, its ‘main’ manga (the one by Tsugano Gaku) ended in 2013 after 20 volumes. Wikipedia has a list of the different manga based on Haruhi, and they are all listed as

I would say Jynx stays Ice and Psychic. In Gen 7, it really only learns Perish Song which I would consider Sound. She’s more about those hypnotic wiggles.

Maybe from a balance perspective, but from a thematic standpoint, I really feel Sound should be a type.

Hyadain had a great library of songs, but he hasn’t really done much since becoming a singer. He had been a composer and lyricist while releasing them on Nico Nico, but I guess for some reason he couldn’t when he became a singer? Or maybe when he revealed his real name.

I fell heavily on the Japanese side of internet culture.  Not too sure on The Megas, but didn’t The Protomen barely (if at all) incorporate actual Mega Man songs into their songs.  They were more like rock ballad retellings loosely based on the plot of Mega Man, right?

Oh forgot about another official song, Kaze yo Tsutaete, aka Roll’s Theme:

I’m partial to the 8-bit remix, though partially for turning the animated intro into sprites:

I agree how with how boring Toucannon looks. It’s the regional bird, so they normally are pretty plain, but its pres Pikipek and Trumbeak still feel like Pokemon, while Toucannon just looks like a cartoon toucan. I think it has one saving grace, which isn’t visible at all in still images.

Taking a closer look, the Koopa Troopa seems to have wet his blanket, and his shells are actually two blankets (futons?) with red shell and green shell designs.  Yoshi has his saddle off, if you meant that.

They moved KK from Friday to Sunday so KK didn’t get rid of the visitor on weekdays (Redd, Kicks, Labelle, Flick, CJ, Leif, Gulliver/Gullivarr, etc). A Saturday event used to mean losing the chance of any of those characters visiting on Friday, and their were complaints since it can be rare enough for one of those to

I didn’t realize this was an issue even when a device is not in use. I’ve never gotten rid of any gaming device, so what does that mean for stuff like PSP, Vita, DS, 3DS, or even things like wireless controllers, especially the Wii U, where the controller is also the screen.

Mario 64 came out June 23rd, 1996 in Japan.  And now, 24 years and 1 month later... Luigi is real 2401

Rotoscoping

Having looked into Japanese internet memes for the last 15-ish years, this doesn’t surprise me at all. There’s a lot of cuts of gay porn mixed into several MADs and Kumikyoku videos

Nostalgic!  There’s no reason for me not to rewatch this when shared

Eizouken was superb

Yeah, the ending of the first episode with dead people raining from the sky (because helicopters suddenly stopped working or something?) made me skeptical, and the 2nd episode with the dad blowing up (and his hand with the wedding ring landing next to his wife) pretty much confirmed to me that this was going to be
