I made a general comment about friendships and the common advise to dump friends. I didn't say one should stay friends with abusers. In fact, I quite clearly stated that you shouldn't stay close to people who aren't good for you.

Making friends when you're an adult is very hard. Not having anyone left from your childhood/teen years is also very hard. Your ten-year old you sort of disappears if nobody remembers it.
