Gas lines?
Gas lines?
“We’re selling you.”
Given the quality control issues in the American workforce as a whole, I don’t see it as a problem that we’re washing out 80% of candidates for a job playing with mobile nuclear reactors and heavy ordinance.
You may as well take it one step further and do mindfulness practice (one could call it “lucid waking”). If you make a habit of looking deeply into the dreamlike nature of our existence, when you do it in dreams it’s immediately obvious you’re in a different state.
For starters, you need to make sure you’re getting enough sleep for lucid dreaming to be a possibility.
As a guy, I more often think that I need to spend more time replaying social encounters to build better relationships with people I see often. The prospect of ignoring, overlooking, or negligently hurting someone (e.g. contributing to a spiral of self-doubt such as described in the article) seems a much greater danger…
I was planning on playing the new Minecraft update, but it was postponed to the middle of next week. So I’ve been playing Minecraft anyway.
And why isn’t he a cancer doctor? Everyone should be a cancer doctor!
It’s no logical proof, but for me the simulation hypothesis falls apart with 10 minutes spent either in any natural setting or in mindfulness practice. The world may be mostly a mirage, but it’s no orderly construct.
Monotheists have long made the same argument about belief in God, but avowed atheists are in fact a rather orderly lot, and secular humanism is all about altruism and improving society. We all like to think about what others would do with no constraints and get scared, but think instead about what you would do (and…
We don’t know the victims’ identities, and it doesn’t detract from your main point, but this case looks very much like it started with domestic violence. So no, not terrorism, but not likely random, and at least somewhat “focused and purposeful.” The train stabber was probably more random, and the case for calling it…
Protip: most of those “kids” are grown-ass men. Also though, depending on what they’re building, Minecraft is a game that takes research. Watching videos and trading builds back and forth and refining them is part of the game.
...what’s lacking in the PC version’s controller support? Just support for a second player?
Erm, no? Try it or don’t. Most people who try it, like it.
I was on a long Minecraft jag just last summer/fall, and now I have a Vive headset. I got to fire up Vivecraft and wander around my blinged-out village and redstone-wired dungeon, which are still untouched on my last server (though the server isn’t up reliably). I’m still kind of done with those builds, but I’m…
There are a lot of goals in Minecraft, just no fixed path or quests. If you’re playing survival, you need iron to get diamonds, diamonds to get obsidian, and diamonds, obsidian, leather and paper to get enchantments. You’ll need obsidian and enchanted gear to get into and survive the Nether, and you’ll need Nether…
Oxygen Not Included will probably hold my attention at least through the weekend. It feels more like a freeform puzzle game than a colony sim. The focus is mainly on moving the liquids and gases around at the right temperatures and pressures for a variety of desired effects. Keeping things pretty for your dupes is…
For me it’s not that there’s wicked naughty sex stuff, but that women are so often portrayed as sub-sapient, to the point they are literally presented as animals. The feminine ideal appears to be a child with a pituitary condition who has been dropped on her head (the middle one) too many times.
Sounds more like manual dexterity and/or hand-eye coordination, with maybe an attention deficit thrown in. But, you know, it’s your personal narrative, so sure, “art.”
If you actually recall the cast and lore at launch, it was diverse in a World Cup, international competition kind of way, not in an inclusive society kind of way. The lead characters were a Manic Pixie Dream Girl and G.I. Joe.
