Assasins Creed: Syndicate and I can’t believe how hooked I am on the thing. Whenever I’m not playing it I’m looking forward to going back home and immersing myself back in all the busywork. It’s even more of an achievement because, after having played every previous game in the series I should be super-burned out, but

Good to know, as it has a special place in my heart. That said, if I had to choose an AC game to replay, AC2 or Brotherhood would surely come first.

I don’t think that modern AC game will ever happen, as Ubisoft already have an open-world-in-a-modern-times-city IP. Also, I have a feeling they’d rather give the series a rest (a la Prince of Persia) than wrap it up. The end of Desmond’s arc in AC3 is probably the closest thing the series will ever get to a wrap-up.

I have the fondest memories of the first one. For some reason I got totally into it and felt like I really was experiencing things that happened in the distant past. It was magical.

Seven ate it?

My favourite inaccuracy is the fact that the Cathedral in the game sports its current façade, which was built (placed? what do you do with a façade?) in the 19th century. It’s also kind of a lost opportunity because there’s quite a story behind how and when that façade came to be, and it would have made for a fun

My, this has been a horrible week for intendo.

Wasn’t it called Gunshippy McGunface?

Just going through that list of possible medical conditions is enough to bring your libido even a couple of notches further down. I mean, Jesus.

Oh, come on, give the person a break. That sounds less like fandom to me and more like devotion. Not that there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with that, but you can be a fan of X without having to walk on burning coals to earn your badge.

So much this. I sorely miss the kind of games that can only be played properly with KB+M (Anno series, I’m looking at you) but these days I just can’t find it in myself to get off the couch and back to my desk. Feels too much like I’m at work.

I remember it received criticism for the jetpack. Since it could rescue you from a failed jump it felt too much like cheating, to the purists at least (Bu then again, I don’t remember whether this was a prevailing sentiment or just something I read in a review, once). I came in with absolutely no preconceptions so it

Thanks, I usually think my English is bad enough to get me in trouble every now and then, but too good to use it as an excuse to get out of said trouble.

FWIW, I’m sitting on two or three Mario games I’ll never come close to finish. My first Mario game was Sunshine and for whatever reason it was the only one I’ve ever really enjoyed. Platformers are not my thing it seems. I kept buying Mario games because of my memories of Sunshine and because it’s easy to be carried

Oh, now I see what the sentence means. Well, this is embarrasing...

Maybe it comes with age. I’m at a time in my life where I value time much more than money. Once I start a game I usually commit to finishing it, so I think long and hard about what I’m going to play next. It just feels horrible to me to leave a game unfinished. But it started to dawn on my that I already have more

I think that happens to all of us one time or another.

Researching one’s purchases is certainly something everybody should do, but let’s say, for the sake of argument, that even after doing your homework you do end up getting a dud. It’s not even that the game is bad. Everybody seems to be loving it and for good reason but you, you find yourself having a miserable (or

Hopefully it’ll do the modern thing and come with a volume slider for the music. Not hating here, but unless it’s an incidental thing (say, happens only during combat or cutscenes) I grow tired very quickly of even the best-sounding looping music.

Curious, I didn’t know that.
