Can’t read the review right now and you had me at “Dragon Quest” anyway, but one thing I read in the summary box has my head spinning: MIDI music? In a 2018 game?

I’m feeling so affirmed now in my long-flight-coping techniques. :)
“nope the fuck out of X” is now part of my vocabulary. Thank you, kind person.
LOL I can’t believe you cited my silly non-suggestion (and first of all to boot!). I’m so flattered.
You’re set then!
Earplugs, drugs, self-pity and a deep sense of loathing for Humanity at large (until the drugs kick in).
Ah, OK, that makes sense. Here’s hoping you won’t have to wait long.
Don’t you have any other platform to play it on? I mean, it’s a great game while it lasts, but it’s very short and not really replayable, so it’s hardly worth holding out to get it on the only(?) current platform it’s not on yet.
Sigh. They will never make the yellow one I definitely don’t need but absolutely want.
Same as it ever was. ;)
Yeah, I had like four “false” starts until I settled with an adept, and I ended up lowering the difficulty to casual anyway to fast-forward the combat. It’s funny, but my biggest thrill this time around, by far, is when I get a new entry in the codex. I can’t get enough of that stuff.
Thanks, I’m playing it on PS3, but graphics are not the problem anyway.
If my experience is anything to go by, don’t go back to 1. It’s a shame but its clunkiness saps the joy out of the awesome universe it depicts. You can see how Bioware were trying to explore new territory but weren’t quite there yet.
Seriously, it’s making me question my life choices. So far, I’m playing it the same way I play every other RPG (i.e. in a completionist way) but if I start to feel the burnout I’ll just try to ignore my OCD and stick to the main story, which is what I’m here for anyway.
Yeah I’m well aware of that. Let’s say I also watched Lost to the bitter end and tend to value the journey more than the destination. I’m also less passionate about Bioware than most people who care about their games seem to be, so I believe my expectations are safely in check.
Replaying The first Mass Effect, in an effort to finally play the whole series. I’m loving the sci-fi but by Jove has it aged horribly gameplay-wise.
Aaaand just after posting about this somewhere else, I just found the maximum level of pixellation/lack of antialiasing I can actually appreciate. I’m loving the Amiga vibe I’m getting from that video.
I on the other hand respect it but can’t stomach it, and find myself dismissing games left, right and center because of that single reason. Not that it matters, really. Pixel-art games are popular enough that they don’t need my money and I already have way more games than I’ll ever be able to play, so here’s to…

If you mean Mary King’s Close I agree with you. I’ve visited two times with no regrets. It certainly isn’t glamorous but it’s at least curious.
