My sister won’t order steak in a restaurant because she says she can do it better at home.  And I’ll be damned if she isn’t right.  She buys good meat from a local butcher and cooks it to perfection.  But she only buys $5 wine :(

Capital Grille is pretty fucking expensive, but it’s not crazy if you don’t drink. A nice meal for 2 with all courses, steaks, etc is around $150 if I remember correctly. Entrees are around $40-50 or so.

I once had a very expensive ($350) steak meal. It was a gift to my partner, who makes a damn good steak himself. We did have wagyu, and it was indeed incredible. But the entire meal was incredible, honestly; from the service to the small plates/sides. It’s the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommend Kayne

There was an opportunity here, and they just let it slip through their fingers.

Was it a $20 steak at a restaurant or a $20 steak at the grocery store? A $20 grocery store steak is already a pretty good steak so you have diminishing returns after that.

Used in conjunction with gaslighting, this is often a way people get sucked into becoming the “other person” in extramarital affairs, too.

Years ago, this happened to me. A man constantly showered me with praise every time he saw me, constant compliments, including nonstop references to how I was prettier, smarter,

That $30 bottle of wine will be $70–$100 at a restaurant, though, depending on the severity of the markup. Adds up fast. A $30 bottle at a nice steakhouse will be close to plonk.

Once you get a taste of it, nothing but a few hundred dollar steak will taste good to you — even if you are eating chicken or a salad.

I’ve had a Wagyu steak- something like $90 for it.

A friend who worked in the wine industry firmly believed (privately) that there was rarely a reason to spend more than $30 a bottle. I’m not really a steak person but I have to imagine it’s the same? I’m more willing to pay extra forhappy local meat than prize cuts though so I’m also probably the wrong demographic.

A lot. Food that someone else makes for you that is probably the tastiest food you’ve eaten is really good.

I feel you, from one fan to another. I'm sad and I'm mad as hell.

When I had an expense account that covered meals, I often had $4-500 (and more) bills. And I guarantee the food I ate was better than any $20 steak.

I surmise that possibly its not the actual steak that ran up the bill but perhaps the cabernet (or three) that was ordered to wash it all down.

Tsundere is a hell of a drug

How to tell if your religious liberty is being threatened, written by a minister:

I too never knew about pepper paintballs until I saw cops use them on the George Floyd protests. Too bad the Capitol police weren’t that hyped to fight back real insurgents.

I find many people value religion for making them feel superior or to denigrate others because of what they believe. This type doesn’t want to do the work of soul examination or actual surrender to God or admit they’re wrong in any way. They see it as a Domination Cloak that grants them perfection and makes everything

Fastest combat, best feeling new game at the time because there were no old pokemon til after the elite 4, great spritework, first game without the need for HM slaves except for side areas, a good mix of types across the game.... they were so good.

I agree, but I think the 3D might ruin the excellent pacing of B/Ws combat. It’s still the fastest, most fluid combat in the series imo, which is why I played it more than any of the others. Hoping to be proven wrong, though.
