Disagree. Data shows that higher performance (aka lower tread wear) tires are better in the wet than all seasons, regardless of their use. Braking distances are reduced with better tires, and all other handling aspects are increased.

A star spec or rs3 will do better in the rain than any all season - save maybe some

I was talking with two other long time racers at the track two weeks ago, and we came to the exact opposite conclusion. I was changing from a set of $1,500 R compound tires to street tires, and they were on a set of well broken in extreme-performance-summer tires. and the comment was: “For driving on interstate

If you don’t track but have a spirited driving in your base slow performance daily driver then sumitomo tires are what you want. Okay in about in every category for half the price of Continental tires which I think compares very well with.

Fuck yeah. If you don’t track or be snob on public roads Sumitomo HTR are great for DD cars. I have them on my Honda Accord 5 speed right now. $360 off of tire rack with free pickup. Tread wear is non existent but i have heard they are not so good in snow. Oh well. My first 6k miles are as good as the Continental

I’d say “sometimes”. Price tag isn’t always better. The Sumitomo HTR A/S P02s I had on my E90 were leaps and bounds better than the Pirelli Cinturato P7's that are on my F30. Going to change them out before winter. Cause these Pirellis blow chunks, despite being 3 to 4 times the price.

Firestone recently re-did its tire selection and they’re also a good bargain. I just put a fresh set of Firehawk all-seasons on my E46, and I really like them. Much better steering feel than my old Continentals, quieter, more comfortable, and definitely more grip. In 205/55/16, they were like $86/each.

The difference between union and non-union is the fact I won’t get fired because my boss didn’t get laid over the weekend.

Here is something for you... I run the Dragon a lot.

I do not know why people decide to speed up when someone else passes them. It’s not a race. Sheesh.

People out west on seeing videos of this road: What a cute little road. 11 whole miles?

To bad that can’t be bottled.

BE PATIENT. Is that so hard? Ease up on the coffee and wait for a safe place to pass.

The answer is take it to the track

The shards that flew when you shifted were hilarious (to me)

Belts really depend on the specific engine and model, but god were the accessory belts on my Mazda Protege5 horrible. Threaded tensioner crammed where my arm could only just fit and required a box end wrench to fit (no ratchet).

Doing spark plugs on a Subaru may suck but doing work on the accessories and belts is 1000x easier than in your typical I4 application.
