Since everyone in the slower lanes gives appropriate following distance I found it relatively simple to step over into the slower lane to let a faster car by even when passing 10 cars because those 10 cars are all observing correct spacing and I don’t need to slow down much in the time I’m in that lane before going Read more

I’ve been to Germany and drove several hundred miles and in that time I never got mad at a single driver for how they were driving. If someone in Germany is coming up behind you at 200KPH and flashing their lights you should move over.

My Miata pretty much only sees track use and it doesn’t have a hardtop and isn’t even particularly low or modified. Stock powertrain, soft-top, roll bar, mild suspension (been meaning to upgrade to some good coilovers but I’m still finding time out there), NT-01s. Track it quite a few times a year and very few street

Yes, oodles of them at the overpriced factory museum outside Modena. They’re HUGE.

If anyone here has never seen a Pagani in person allow me to rant for a moment about just how freaking BIG they are. Like...look at that top down shot and imagine a Miata overlaid on it. It could fit inside the Pagani. They’re BOATS. Speed boats sure, but they look and feel like BOATS.

Ah yes, Gen X. The generation famous for apathy who helped set the stage for our current predicaments by redefining the youth as feckless, lazy, and unengaged in the eyes of the olds. Any surprise they’ve ignored us for so long? They’ve had a generation of training to do it. Thanks Gen X. Keep on not giving a fuck.

The X-Wing novels were pretty much the best thing in the EU.

I have a 2018 GTI and a ‘95 Miata. Both are absolutely fine in the usual freeway traffic. The totally stopped bridge plaza traffic is a little more annoying but still better than taking the trip in an auto.

SF Bay Area traffic I drive a manual. It’s more fun that way.

Keep it in 1st. You can keep it in 1st down to like 3mph. Use following distance. If you must stop then stop. Then you let there be a gap so you’re not slipping your clutch, you can just start normally.

I would stay away from the C30. I lost...a lot of money on my V50 in the 9 months I had it.

A step of the tire rotation process is the proper torquing of lug nuts. Without this the tire rotation cannot said to have been performed any more than an oil change where they forget to put the oil in.

I just started using them for one-way trips that are too far to walk where I wouldn’t want to park my bike.

The finished product was built in a Toyota factory and sold in the thousands through the normal Toyota dealer network. Sounds like a production car to me. If a 918 Spyder is a production car so is this.

They very much were production cars. The powertrains for the second gen were built by Tesla actually. The second gen is an EV mandate compliance car and was only sold in California. The first gen was sold primarily in California and stopped production when big Oil (Chevron) acquired some NiMH battery patents and sued Read more
