Remember, while smart to get, an independent pre-purchase inspection is no guarantee of anything. I purchased a high-mileage (turbo, manual, awesome) Volvo wagon private party (one owner car, clean history, some new expensive suspension parts, full maintenance records) and had it inspected at a well-regarded Volvo

Woah woah woah woah. Let’s be clear. This is the minutiae of the corporate studio process. Not the filmmaking process.

I think Element or an Accord/Camry wagon would be good. There’s also Rav4 and CRVs.

How long ago was that?

Just get the Pulsar NX from todays NP/CP

He needs something reliable and not a project and you guys recommend 3 old american cars that will be nightmares and a Subaru from the era of blown headgaskets.

GTI is one of those performance cars that feels like it works with the road to get around corners instead of trying to beat the road into submission.

The seat anchors sheared off due to poor fabrication and he was ejected.

Even with the money they’re stacking on the hood I till went with the GTI because the interior is just so much nicer and the car is just a much smoother drive better equipped for daily driver duty.

Personally I think you need some added rigidity in the sole of the shoe in order to heel-toe effectively. When I’m driving at the track I wear a pair of thin shoes with the factory insoles totally removed.

I owned one of these (T5 manual) for about 9 months up until last week. Cost me a fortune in maintenance and I really had to get rid of it. Wish you better luck than I, I adore this car, mine just ended up being a bit of a pile despite looking nice.

Underpowered is a car that when acceleration is called for does not deliver it. I’ve driven a lot of modern economy cars, and this one feels dangerously slow. Its too heavy and the AWD system saps too much power for an engine that small. If the CVT didn’t simulate gears it might be improved somewhat as you could keep

Like I was saying to the other guy I’ve taken one to redline through 3 fake CVT gears and it simply didn’t move. That’s about as spun up as it gets.

You just said that you need to put your foot down more. Well...the guy getting one to 60 in 9.2 certainly did and it was SLOW.

My dude, I’ve red-lined one through 3 fake CVT “gears” at WOT and was able to do so in the course of a fairly short block because while it rev’d and shifted it simply didn’t accelerate. Felt slower than cars with 30 fewer HP. 152HP in a car that weighs 3300lbs and has to contend with AWD drivetrain losses. Not

My point is that the market wants this kind of thing so if Ford builds one that’s better it will probably sell, and I think it won’t be hard for them to build one that’s better.

Small engine, heavy car, AWD drivetrain power losses.

The interior is fairly disappointing, but the car is quite old now. I just picked up and ‘18 GTI and recalled having liked the Focus ST quite a bit. But I hadn’t driven one since like 2013. Sat down in one and was immediately turned off. No regrets on the GTI...I think it might be the best all-round car under $30k.

I would love it if they made that. TBH with roads crumbling it seems like going fast on a curvy road is less important than hauling ass on a CRUMBLING road.
