This is BS. They’re supposedly limited because Multimatic only has one autoclave. With the amount of money in this program, Ford could buy Multimatic as many autoclaves as they want.
There was actually a pretty long window of opportunity to buy a P1. You could still find allocations a few months after initial deliveries started happening.
