The funny thing about people hating on the age of the FM platform is the whole industry has moved to that model. Nissan was ahead of their time, for good reason. Why make an entirely new platform every model change if you can make one that you can continually improve forever?

This isn’t just like 20 years ago though. New engine, new design. Plus all the big hitters have moved to “forever” platforms. BMW is never going to replace CLAR. VWAG are never going to replace MQB/MLB/whatever. At least not until they move to EVs. So it’s stupid to hate on Nissan for rolling with a forever platform-

Yep.... Reagan was the turning point of the GOP being the party of small govt to the party of no govt. I also think he was the first president in a long time to make other Americans enemies of America. I find it pretty sad that most of the whackadoo right wingers look back on Reagan damn near with tears in their eyes.

Just for the DSG? Unless the DSG in the old S4 is wildly different than the one in the GTI/R, I didn’t really see a huge difference between it and the ZF8. The ZF8 is as good as any DCT I’ve driven, maybe even including the 458 Italia.

EV charging is a revenue godsend for not much investment.... utilities will be more than happy to accommodate that demand

What exactly is your objective? More road safety + better drivers, or essentially banning driving for the bulk of the population through an expensive and byzantine licensing process? Why do people need extensive classroom training to not text/drink/speed/tailgate/be distracted while driving, and how effective will

What’s wrong with the easiest route? It’s cheap and effective. Again we already know the main culprits for danger on the roads- phones, alcohol/drugs, bad driving habits (speeding, tailgating, bad lane discipline etc). Everyone already knows these things are bad... we don’t need to teach them that, or advanced driving

Yea it would be one thing if they all went to some secluded island somewhere and drank special Kool Aid but I literally live next door to some.

Is there anything on the market without a backlight that can replace magazines?

Nearly every single problem you list can be fixed pretty quickly with more traffic law enforcement through cameras. An 18 year old with a 300HP car won’t be able to do much with that if he’s drowning in tickets and eventually facing impounds/serious charges. Cutting somebody off and generally erratic driving can

Europe also generally has a culture and legal framework that makes it a lot easier for people to take time off for stuff like this. Americans can barely take off time to vote; you are living in a fantasy land if you think someone working a minimum job can afford to pay for and take time from work for one of these

My big fear is that Q is a suicide cult, and that these people are going to begin engaging in straight up terrorist attacks.

The OG R got a big FW update that transformed the user experience. I’ve had mine for about a year and a half and I really like it.

I’m generally relatively brand agnostic, but Boss is going to have to crank out quality stuff for a few decades before I put some money down on their stuff. Boss, Pyle, Jensen.... god bless

Upping the requirements for getting a license won’t do anything but make licensing an even more regressive tax. Good, safe driving isn’t hard at all. Don’t speed. Don’t tailgate. Maintain good lane discipline. Obey traffic signs and devices. Don’t drive drunk. Stay off your phone. That’s it. You don’t need a PhD in

You are free to do whatever you want, but if you drive on public roads exercising free will outside the bounds of the law will result in legal consequences.

“Paying attention in driver’s ed” won’t do shit, nor will graduated licensing or anything else related to training. American roads aren’t designed for everyone to do 100+ MPH all the time and most American drivers don’t feel safe at those speeds. And just because you like to go fast doesn’t mean you should get to

When I was in my early 20s I used to go to street races in NYC. Honestly, I didn’t even care about the racing. The most fun part was seeing all the cars in the parking lot. It was a fun social event.

I agree that you should be free to drive as fast as you want........... just not on public roads.

2nd gear: minivan life is glorious, and I feel sorry for all the families missing out. A typical 2-3 row midsize mainstream crossover is no more fun to drive and much less practical. The only thing I don’t like about our Sienna is the poorer NVH compared to our old Lincoln MKX. Hoping a couple hundred dollars of
