Why don’t the Tesla Autopilot deaths count? The ones I remember were in broad daylight. No, public roads should not be some tech bros’ experimental playground. Levandowski’s proud disregard for public safety is exactly why this whole thing needs to be regulated.

Fuck, those are some beautiful press shots.

So you’d be cool with being the next autonomous Uber victim, because, “technology”?

Neutral- set fleet emissions targets, let automakers figure out the rest. Stop trying to force one tech over another (i.e. ICE bans). Emissions are emissions. Oh and beef up regulatory bodies so that random college kids don’t have to do the testing.

You’re basically paying a premium for style, which is always a huge gamble.

Came for the PDL/AE link, was not disappointed.

Shiver me timbers. Looks like the new 8 speed PDK gets the job done. Wonder if they made necessary changes to the 7 speed.

Honda’s CVTs are not bad.

Manual... PDK.... when will they release a version that doesn’t take “2nd” gear to damn near 80MPH? There should be a law that every car that revs over 7000 RPM should hit redline 3 times by 90 MPH. To HELL with fuel economy or w/e, that’s what the top gears are for.

Def not, but $30K on a car is much easier to justify. This kind of performance and engagement on four wheels is a very good value proposition at this price.

Lap times only matter in racing, which I am guessing few to none of us do or would buy this car for. Plus cars and bikes don’t (or at least SHOULDN’T) race each other on the track anyway.

You’d have to be crazy to drive this thing without a helmet and earplugs IMO, so the noise should be no issue. The shit ride sounds more like a bad suspension tune than anything inherently wrong with the car. There are cars like this with plush rides.

There are 2 safety issues with bikes: the complete lack of crumple zones, and the fact that drivers look for cars but not bikes. Those two things alone would make this safer than a bike IMO.

I think it’s a good price and a good purchase for the right person. I ride a motorcycle so where you see a death trap I see a massive safety/practicality upgrade. Plus for $30K please show me something else that revs to 9K with Honda reliability, has 5lb/hp, handles well and legitimately seats 2. Don’t confuse this

I come at this thing from a different angle. I’d wager it’s as engaging and thrilling as a motorcycle, but way safer and more practical. At 5lb/hp it’s about as powerful as something like a Speed Triple + rider, which is just about perfect. I’d def do this over a bike if I could afford it.

The number of pedals under one’s steering wheel has no bearing on one’s propensity to work hard. Equating choosing to drive a manual transmission for pleasure as hard work is stupid. This is like saying people don’t play video games because they’re lazy. Makes no sense.

Getting to ride a real current MotoGP bike is worth the cost of admission.

Which is why the manual is dying, sadly.

Honestly no need.... just get a mount and run it on your phone. Would probably still be easier than their touchpad.

Nope.... IS interior is cramped and hideous. I have rear facing child seats. I need the ES’ legroom but I also need it to be able to fit in my cramped garage.
