Agreed, especially in the context of their string of recent powertrains. Skyactiv-D was a full on flop; Skyactiv-X’s delays are worrying; and even the 2.5T is just OK.
Good automatics are fine. There’s more to driving enjoyment than operating a clutch pedal and shift lever.
1st- I still contend that there are too many brands. I don’t want people to lose their livelihoods but I think the next recession is going to put a few brands to bed.

Like I said. Little overlap. Techies and F150 owners are basically complete opposites.
I sincerely doubt there’s much overlap between traditional truck buyers who want something electric and people who want the Cybertruck. I don’t think the traditional truck makers have much to worry about.
They might as well be fleet only and have like 50 miles of rated city range. I am waiting with baited breath to see what the highway range on an EV pickup is like as I imagine that’s going to... take a lot of wind out of their sails.
