ACC: Don’t know what changes you guys made but the site seems to be running a bit smoother/faster.

I still feel Skyactiv-X/D/”T” (the 2.5 turbo) could and should all have been replaced with Skyactiv-H

As a result of penny savings, Aston has allegedly dumped its plans for the electric RapidE directly into the trash bin. It’s a shame, because the RapidE would have fought directly against Porsche’s Taycan in the premium electric sports sedan market, as it was purported to deliver 200 miles of range and a sub-4-second

Accepting the truth is easier than maintaining cognitive dissonance.

I still wish Mazda had gone hybrid.

I played with some demo distributions... if I could find annual US sales going back to 1960 or whatever I bet it would be as simple as an exponential decline with age. With a fixed 17M/yr model year count and an assumed 5%/year death rate I got an average age of 16. When you factor in population growth (and by

72-84 month loans are more common place. 69 for new cars and 65 for used:

No, the data is definitely average age.

2nd- seems like there are more luxury or quasi luxury brands than mainstream brands, which I think is a new development. What is the value proposition of 1 $200K SUV over any of the others?

So many questions... this just doesn’t make sense

It’s kind of amazing that a topic this mundane can turn into such an extreme hot take contest.

Don’t be afraid to express an opinion that challenges the Jalop hot take hivemind. This cage needs to be rattled.

Ghosn getting “justice” isn’t going to solve whatever problems are clearly hanging over your head.

Agreed. Frustrates me that people see it so either or. Ghosn isn’t an angel but he brought Nissan back from the brink of death, without question. And with the way the industry and Nissan are headed, it’s gonna take the kind of merger only Ghosn could broker to save it from the brink it’s headed to again.

So edgy.

Yea, they just think “what if” and go about their business. If bike lanes were effective in creating a critical mass of bike commuters so many of them wouldn’t remain empty. I have lived in this neighborhood for 5 or 6 years now and I have yet to see anyone in the bike lanes. With all the rolling hills even a quick

There are enough caveats and ifs that just don’t make this a reasonable suggestion for most people. I’m a cyclist and I commuted by bike in NYC for years. I’m in the south now and I’m telling you it’s no go for most people.

Do you have this same energy for equally dangerous minivans, luxury cars and performance vehicles, or do you only have anger for 3500lb CR-Vs but not 4500lb M5s? And what sacrifices have you made for everyone else’s safety?

Exactly. Population density and public transportation go hand in hand. The more miles of transit each person has to pay for the less feasible it is. I’m in Charlotte and we’ve made some advances but you still need a car for most transportation.

Not in the South, during about half of the year, where most jobs don’t have on site showers.
