There are also plenty of people trapped by car debt and predatory traffic enforcement. And there are plenty of people who can afford the cars they have, but would gladly ride share to save money, or because they can’t/shouldn’t be driving anymore (old people and alcoholics).

Unless I missed it, there seems to be a pretty huge gaping hole in this study that AV hating Jalops rushed to overlook.

With the budget thing don’t forget about the total cost of ownership. Someone spending $600 a month on gas and insurance with no note isn't necessarily better positioned than someone with the same monthly outlay and a note.

All the domestic mainstream sedans have been competitive for quite some time. Malibu included. It’s no worse than the Altima that was out when it debuted. I’d go as far as to say the Malibu/Cruse are the BEST mainstream sedans GM has ever made. The only real strike against any of them was slightly worse fuel economy

Shitting on a stranger and their labor of love. How Jalop of you.

A Miata is kind of a perfect city car. EASY TO PARK, cheap on gas. Only thing wrong with this one is the lack of suspension travel, but those sidewalls are downright plump. And some noise cancelling headphones or straight up earplugs would probably be good for any long distance driving. Reminds me a lot of my

1st- in today’s news, people don’t want to pay 2x the price for an economy car with less utility. Back to you Bob

What good is brand loyalty that you literally have to pay to keep?

1st-4th- there are too many damn car brands, and a 17 million SAAR remains absolutely absurd.

Agreed 100%. When I worked with field guys I always tried to show respect and deference for their experience. They had way more to teach me than the other way around.

There is no logic here. Just a self righteous rant centering on a completely baseless assumption. No need to apologize for being dumb, you can’t help it.

Relax Mr. Bad Ass, we have no idea what kind of tires he (or she) had on this thing. People have become so devoid of purpose they have to rally behind meaningless causes like “BEING THE GUY WHO PUTS SNOW TIRES ON HIS RWD SPORTS CAR AND TELLS YOU ALL ABOUT IT”.

4th- Bloomberg is usually really good (I have a paper subscription) but this conclusion feels a bit dubious. I like math, so let’s do it.

Isn’t Nissan about to kill the Titan? And the GT-R hasn’t been relevant in years. You must be like 16

Honda is a big company. They can do both at the same time if they want. And Honda is a smart company. They know EVs are not profitable at the moment, and that “taking on Elon” right now is a race to the bottom. Plus developing an EV platform is not difficult for them.

4th- Looking forward to hear what the peanut gallery knows that the CEO of Honda doesn’t.

Track driving and street driving are very different and this is a clear example. If you’re driving defensively, not speeding excessively or following too closely you should never need the fraction of a second this saves. Plus most people have decades of right foot braking muscle memory... IMO it’s better to learn to

I doubt the people who hate big engine C classes feel any different about equally big engined Mustangs.

I guess the difference here is that Ferrari has recent racing heritage worth talking about. Plus Ferrari's brand cachet has never wavered or been in question. Maserati has been redundant since the Biturbo days.

What current car company has been able to skip crossovers and sell cars based on their racing heritage? The only company I can think of is McLaren, and it’s in a very crowded and competitive space.
