I'm with you there, I just think it is unrealistic to expect these companies to care when it has no significant impact on their bottom line.

Show this conversation to anyone else (who isn't fapping over Samsung or HTC) and see who sounds more reasonable.

Yeesh, look at all the clutter in the Android menubar. What's the point?

I didn't say this was a critique, I said that Jezebel does the same thing at other times.

High density happens because of technology and money, not because of political policies.

That is not why at all.

Right, because the general populace is so well educated about Native Americans. They really are in the forefront of what people think about when they imagine American cultures.

Wow you got me there! Demolished my point with a single example.

Wow you really got me there! Way to demonstrate your point with logic, reason, and evidence.

Still missing the point. Read my comment again.

How many people can recognize those photos or have seen them?

Reading comprehension is poor today.

Actually you are right, I mostly know the history of just the Lenni Lenape in the Manhattan area, and my knowledge of Native American history in the rest of America is abstract although probably better than average.

Sigh, another cliche Jezebel moment.

Huh? How did you read that out of what I wrote?

You keep forgetting that this applies to hundreds of millions of regular consumers, not me.

Your reading of that was painfully shallow. Those were a list of random questions people could have regarding whether something could be taken as offensive and what determines whether a culture is deserving of that offense (notice how much we misrepresent Japanese culture). This confuses people.

Offense is given AND taken, sometimes one side is more to blame than the other.

This works great on the individual level, not so much on the society level.
