Would love to hear from the author or someone with knowledge of the situation about where I can donate to help defray their expenses.  There’s not much else I can do, living so far away and not being a lawyer, but, dammit, these people should get their children back!

Or, maybe instead of deporting the parents, we keep the families together while they await their asylum hearing? That way we can spare all involved the trauma of separation.

I am not sure that I fully understand any legal argument for detaining the children while deporting the parents. Does anyone have any more insight into how the administration legally justifies this? It looks like kidnapping on an international scale.

Having access to potable drinking water shouldn’t be a ‘states’ issue, it should be a human rights issue.

I was shocked to find out the President can overrule decisions by the National Security services about who can get a security clearance. It seems that this is yet another thing that is going to have to be legislated about, since once that barn door has been opened, we have no guarantee that it will ever be closed…

My guess is that he stopped at the first line and thought the other guy was gloating at Cohen’s misfortune.

Also she managed to make it relate directly to her district (no surprise given her district) but still it lays to waste any criticism that she’s too busy being a bamf on these big picture things to be focusing on her district. More people should really use her as an example of how to do just that.
