Nintendo functions best when they do their own thing and as noted, they are known for peaking from behind the curtain saying “Uh, this stuff is coming.” then vanishing from sight only to show up again when it suits them.

This seems likely actually.
Throwing out a mini Direct to get all the port announcements out of the way before a bigger Direct to show actual new things would be a pretty cool. Because there were some great games in this one but it’s pretty disappointing in terms of new stuff.
Random announcements are the best, specially when there’s no wait time. Like... “Look at this shiny new thing, amazing isn’t it? You can have it now”.
This morning, Nintendo dropped a 15 minute “Nintendo Direct Mini” out of nowhere, detailing some new games, ports,…
The newly announced Switch game Mario Tennis Aces isn’t just another Mario-branded sports game. Nintendo and Camelot are including a story mode in this spring release, something they haven’t done since 2005's Mario Tennis: Power Tour on Game Boy Advance, a game that was basically a tennis RPG. Yup, used to be an alcoholic (still am, albeit a non-drinking one). Got help from a medical institute (NOT the AA), slowly cut back with help, am still clean and only rarely have a craving (at which point i make myself some tea).

Nothing excuses someone from their own actions, and it’s obvious that this guy was full of hate — and pain.
To be fair, this is a pretty messy situation. Yes, he’s a veteran; yes, he’s sufferring from PTSD.
Well, speaking as a veteran, I concede some of what you say. It is politically and socially convenient to SAY you care about veteran’s welfare, less convenient to DO something about it.
The point of the comment is that this is essentially a non-story because no one is losing sleep over the passing of this person. Clear now?
The right says they care about veterans
