I would argue that the biggest problem in quantifying death, is that when we fix a number to the title of an event, we remove the pure horror many of these events were.

Depends a lot on the specific product and its environment.

Maybe we should start actively adopting crows into our society. We already live side by side and we're both intelligent, sentient animals, so why not. ^_^

Same here. They seem much less inhibited than "Hollywood" in terms of what story elements they include, how far they take things (both in terms of depth, complexity and darkness) and what kinda stories get funding for a series.

Character's being the same age as the intended audience is more coincidence than a rule, except for "coming of age" stories. But outside of that one genre, the atmosphere, character personalities and story is what determines the targeted age of the audience.

Japans national law puts the age of consent at 13 (penal code article 176 and 177).

I highly recommend this book whenever i get the chance, because it really blew me away in both its scope and depth.
