The biggest problem is all the infotainment and other crap that Ford lumps into equipment packages. Thats what drives the price of a Mustang up. Cant get Recaros without getting them in leather, well that requires the premium package and that means the big stupid screen, BLIS, adaptive cruise control blah blah blah. 

I drove a rental Focus up Pikes Peak in January with 2" of snow and ice on road. Sketchy af. Would love to do it in my FoST too.

I just went down this road with a 1964 Fairlane Sport Coupe. One year body style with unique trim and body. Only thing compatible with a 63 is the front fenders and hood. My brother and I did too. We both bought FoST. I woulda bought a Fiesta ST if I coulda found one around here without a sunroof and definitely woulda bought one in 2 door if offered. Im on my 4th Focus since 2001 and I guess Im jumping brands for my next new car purchase.
