Just because they're ubiquitous, doesn't mean they're good. Higher cost, earlier obsolescence and dealer lock-in for parts mean it's about as useful and cost effective to own as a CRT-VCR combo unit once was-fun until it breaks then you ostensibly end up replacing the entire unit.
