uhhh, the Chevy Volt has had the “e-Save” mode since 2013. Its called the “Hold” mode. Just FYI :)

Has no one realized that, according to some back-of-the-hand calculations, with the 7 motor setup, that this thing is making close to 1,900 ft-lbs of TORQUES! At 1 RPM, I assume, no less :o
So I have a 2017 Ghibli Base, bought new, with the nice Zegna Leather/Silk Interior, Open Pore wood, refreshed/updated interior and infotainment and the 20" wheels. Its a nice fun car with real presence. Its quick, and sounds great but I wouldn’t call it fast with 345hp and 370lb-ft hauling 4000lbs. However, that 3.0…
Question is, we’re they BUFF Horses?!
So what you’re saying is that Jaguar wants to compete with the Lexus CT200?! Okay then!
Engineering jobs mostly in metropolitan areas, I would think. But entry level ones require 10 years of prior work experience in the field, allegedly.
Also, how are the interior bits going to fare against such temperatures, repeatedly for such intervals? Melted Play-doh?!
That sounds like fun! You can only really stretch the legs on an M3 in Texas ;) I did my trip back 4 years ago from Texas to California via New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Nevada. And yes, the little 318i went to Moab as well :)
You’re gonna love this. Its a 1996 318i with a 5 speed. As cheap as E36's get haha. So it’s great on gas and cheap on parts for “Overlanding”. A roof mounted tent system would be ideal in the E36's case.
While Overlanding an E36 can be fun, as I partially did for a bit:
I love how the whole fuse box is right in FRONT of the shifter, for easy access to play Russian Roulette with Lord Lucas :’D
Man, I’m so happy to see Harry try out the XJ Wagoneer and fall in love with it. Makes me miss my old 1990 XJ Wagoneer in Black Cherry Pearl Metallic. Rust was the enemy and right now she’s supposed to be roaming around some fields in Texas last I recall.
I know! You could power several houses (maybe even 10+ houses) for a bit! Redline on the ICE is 4800rpm so not too bad. Although I suspect that if you can hook up a bigger DC-AC inverter to the battery pack that you could extract some decent power out of the car without modifying it too much (I’m thinking 7kW or even…
I think there was nothing you could’ve done (except put the key in a lead box/microwave/fridge). Your key FOB probably got “skimmed” for the transponder signal and poof, the Track Hawk was gone :’(
Firstly: NP!
Mmmmm... I’ve been dreaming of junking the 1.4L in my 1st Gen Volt and putting in a Gas Turbine eventually. Hopefully some other nut does it before I do!
Like all gear heads, I have a similar conundrum. Current list of projects:
You know David, this was a really good Root Cause Analysis of the issue. Was a pleasure to read with all the info! Thank you!
Need pics of the casting number on the Cylinder head. If it says “0331", then RUN! It’ll crack any day now. Even if it doesn’t have that casting number, a cloth seat XJ Sport with a twiggy Dana 35 rear for $12k is still CP territory
The problem is; most BMS and battery architecture/programming won’t allow for this “extra battery capacity” that the. I’m sure it works great for the Zoe! But EV’s like Tesla and the Bolt, etc, have their millions of lines of code to deal with that I doubt they’d be happy to share. Hope them the best of luck though!
