So basically a better styled Nissan Leaf with hopefully a liquid cooled battery pack and faster DCFC? I’m sold! It may not be a roadtrip worthy car per American standards, but it sure as hell will be more than capable than a Leaf and get most if not all the daily driving done in a metropolitan and maybe the occasional

In the United States, the Pajero/Montero name doesn’t mean much (yes I know about the “Pajero” nomenclature issue in the Americas) but in Asia and other regions back in the 80's and 90's, these things were a stepping stone to and as coveted and “luxurious” as a Landcruiser (*Flame suit on*). Especially in Turbo-diesel

So basically, RAM has built a Chevy Volt pickup. NICE! Sign me up!

Just saw that same Cybertruck running around North San Jose yesterday so looks like its fixed!

*starting Chevy Volt Rant*: If only GM had marketed the Volt better. I’m glad that after a decade, the public is realizing the benefits of a PHEV. My current 2017 Volt sits at 55k miles pure-electric and 13k miles of lifetime gas miles driven and 203mpg lifetime. Lifetime MPGe with gas combined is around 80MPGe. I

For reference, salmon needs an internal temp of 155*F to be “safe” and chicken 165*F. Hmmm, baked chicken anyone?? *only kidding, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT!*

I think the real problem is that the base Tesla Model 3 RWD with the LFP pack already exists at the same price point. So this will probably get passed over, even though it has more room in it. Less range than a base model 3 with almost half the power and torque?? No tax credit? NOPE!

How in the Sam Hills is a Jeep XJ Cherokee NOT the top suggestion?? Get a 2.5L AMC 150 with the low range in it if you want to sip on fuel. The 4.0L I-6 can get 20mpg highway and 16mpg city on stock tires. 17mpg on the highway with 31" tires and a 3" lift. And small-ish enough to park in the city too

Wait, so do you mean its like the Pacifica where the CX-90 PHEV forces you to use up the battery first or like the Volt where in the Volt you could tell the car to hold the battery charge between 10% and 90% in 10% increments and then use the battery again when you want to.

Is the CX-90 PHEV able to “hold” the battery charge at a certain level (user defined) and operate like a hybrid unlike how the Pacifica PHEV forces you to use the battery up and then switches to the gas/hybrid mode

The GT trim for the Aviator and Corsair are PHEV’s actually. That’s why they qualify for the EV tax credit

Finally, a proper Chevy Volt replacement! Only took Toyota 13 years to make one lol! Although I think this is closer in comparison to the 2nd Gen Volt (2016+) so lets be generous and say that it took Toyota only 7 years.

So a few other things that are off:

So to clarify a few things in this article:

What’s the DC Fast Charge curve look like for one of these?

Agreed. Maybe it would work better as a bike on the back of an RV with around 800-1000W panels on it. That way you have a fun toy that you can explore with and at least charge over the next day to half or less, depending on sun. Or charge it while you’re RV-ing over to somewhere else.

This could be an interesting touring bike/camping rig if you could carry a 200W solar setup. Charge on the trail? In theory, you could! Maybe not practical but could be interesting

Oh THAT’s good to know!

Wait, since the rest of the regulations kick in on Jan 2023 and ONLY the Made in America regulation kicks in IMMEDIATELY, doesn’t that mean that the ONLY EV’s from now until Jan 2023 that would get a credit now without a price cap or capacity cap would be:

Small world, but I JUST saw one MX-30 going down 101 Southbound near Palo Alto yesterday with the EV chargeport flap cover ripped off the rear! Always nice to see all the up and coming EVs around here
