Why didn’t Cap liberate the concentration camps? Because at a certain point, you just have  to let history be history.

I say this as a fan since the original TV movie -- why should it be in the public conscious now, when it never really was to begin with?

Could go back earlier. It’s Blade’s original origin story in the comics. Deacon Frost bits his mother as she’s giving birth. He becomes immune to vampire bites. Originally, that, and the ability to smell vampires, were his only powers. The Daywalker stuff came much later.

So literally Blade, the comic book version, except with zombies instead of vampires. Deacon Frost bites his mother as she’s giving birth to him, he’s immune to vampire bites. That, and being able to smell vampires, were his only power originally. The Daywalker stuff was later.

And there’s probably a better joke that the game is soggy. OK, not much better. But at least more of a connection than “Hey, they’re both Japanese!”

Except shitty review from 2006 is shitty is a separate issue from “JRPG is a racist concept.” Otherwise, calling out “breast physics” is also now inherently racist. This proves that G4 was racist, not that the term JRPG is.

Yeah, but to go back that far, it would have just been Daws Butler or something.

I’m just assuming Henry Cavill.

Use the cleansing power of vinegar with the whitening power of  bleach.

It does kind of try to make you feel bad about it. Definitely in the second game.

I assume the answer is “waiting until January.”

On that last one, Majestic, an ARG published by EA in 2001. You’d get random phone calls from game characters.

Ethnically, his mother was Jewish. But that was the point — are good-looking Jews allowed to play Jews? You brought up Paul Newman, but is he more the exception than the rule? And then I brought up two more handsome Jews who never play Jewish.

I’m not sure pulling one name out of a hat counts as proof of anything. Like, just as a thing, how many Jews has Harrison Ford played? Or, I dunno, Jon Bernthal?

It feels very Phantom Menace. Not that politics weren’t a part of the original series, but it was very Hero’s Journey. Now, we sit down and have a couple episodes of Trade Federation talks.

Ultimately, it’s all “Things that happen later in the comics.” Not that the show is 1:1 with what Gaiman wrote in the late 80s/90s, but even with characters and arcs streamlined for the TV medium, all the major plot points are still there. This isn’t The Boys, where Herogasm gets reduced to the ooooooooooooooorgy from

And I’m glad they couldn’t make Goodfellas again.

I mean, today, after this little news drop. Long term? I dunno.
