What an incredible smell she discovered!

In the world of yachts $24mm is a bargain.

I like it.  I can’t afford it, so it doesn’t really matter, but I like it.

My first two thoughts were:

I’ve long since given up trying to be cool and I’m happy to agree. The only thing I find jarring is the hot tub deck, it looks like the insurers weren’t happy with the helipad and a back of the envelope sketch made it to production.

I can’t remember any time that a pre-production review included actual, by the numbers testing like you want. We will get those reviews when the N is actually released. This was just to say to car enthusiasts that the ‘gimmicks’ like the sound and the fake shifter and all of that comes together to make this fun as a

Its precisely the opposite of that, describing exactly the process of not being an accident victim.

exactly right.

Victim blaming or not, it takes a lot of work to get hit by a turning vehicle.

clearly you’ve never been to Glendale CA where the aggro drivers look you in the eye as you’re in the middle of the intersection with the walking man symbol lighted up and proceeds to flip you the bird for trying to get somewhere on two legs and drives a few feet from you anyways to make that turn.

I agree that the pedestrian has responsibility for being aware of their surroundings and should behave accordingly, the driver has a similar, and perhaps greater responsibility, to be aware of their surroundings as they are in control of a ton or more of mass.

100% agree with this.  Pedestrians have some responsibility here to at least acknowledge their surroundings.  If you are paying attention and going with the flow of traffic/walkers, it’s very rarely an issue at all.

I have never had a problem, primarily because if I am crossing the road I am 100% staring directly at the drivers, and more specifically their wheels. Same when driving, if there is a car stopped to pull into the lane of traffic, drivers ed at least when I took it, tells you to look at the driver to see if they are

I seem to recall in drivers ed that you’re supposed to stop at the stop line BEFORE the crosswalk no matter what, and only after checking if it’s safe should you creep forward to attempt your right turn. Seems to me simply enforcing this rule would prevent all these problems. People rolling right into the crosswalk is

exactly, you can be in the right and still get killed. gotta try to protect yourself. i run daily and the shit i’ve seen cars do is mind boggling. ban right on red if you want, i’m still not trusting them to not just blow through it anyway.

100% agree.  Very nicely stated. I wanted to say much the same, but your comment is probably better than anything I would have wrote.

I think they’re just summarizing the average interaction a pedestrian would ideally have with a right-turning vehicle.

I like your optimism, I hope that’s true

They weren’t actively being an asshole; they are just an average idiot with no situational awareness or critical thinking skills.

If you have the option between slow and fast, then yes, absolutely, why are you even asking? Always act as you would hope others would act if the situation was reversed. I am sure Kant would have been happy to use EV charges to illustrate his reasoning.
