Explain to me, then, why people with 1-year-old Samsungs don’t have issues with their devices spontaneously “shutting down” while being used due to an aging battery? My girlfriend’s Samsung is over two years old, and AFAIK she hasn’t had a single issue.

If used one-at-a-time, I’m not sure what the issue is. If anything it’s MORE efficient than using the full-sized screen all the time, no? It’s not like you can use both at the same time considering they’re an opposites ides of the phone.

Plenty of phones today have always-on displays and still make it through the day

So much this. I could barely hear my own horn when I honked it on the highway, lol... and my BRZ has, like, no sound deadening.

Most “dad stories” sound like things that would get you arrested today... because they would. But I’ve learned to accept that back in the day, people weren’t so uptight, and you could get away with a LOT more shenanigans without winding up plastered and defamed all over social media. Some of my dad’s stories are

That’s how my setup is. Sometimes you need a friendly honk, or sometimes your car has to go for an alignment or something, and you don’t want them to blow the train horns as they’re pulling into the shop, lol.

Lol. Soooo... funny you should mention that. I may have installed four PA speakers under the hood of my old Outback, after I got them from a yard sale... and I may have hooked them up to an amplifier, which was then hooked into a hand-held microphone, and a PDA with all sorts of sound effects pre-loaded.

Overhead gear selector buttons? Sold.

I guess I'm in the minority, then!

I mean... what about all of us buying new cars for the long haul? It's not like that demographic doesn't exist!

Jesus christ. A million photos of the front end, and not a single photo of the rear!

Lol. It depends on who you ask. In my experience, people either think it’s awesome/hilarious, or think it’s completely stupid, and that I must be a road-raging idiot/asshole.

That was kind of my issue. At speed, on the highway, I almost can’t hear my own horn, lol. And my car has, like, no sound-deadening (well, it has a bit more now, but yeah.)

It’s not legal in pretty much all states. There is no official decibel limit, most of the time, but the verbiage is always something on the order of, “Horns must not be of an unreasonable volume.”

Having said that, since people completely ignore normal volume horns, I don’t consider these unreasonable, lol. At least

Yeah, that guy sounds like a douche. Even the site where I bought this kit from is plastered with photos of the douchiest-looking bro-trucks you’ve ever seen. (www.hornblasters.com).

I think I briefly honked mine once last week, lol.

Mine was a full kit. I had to build the removable mount for the trunk, and buy a few extra fittings for the way I wanted to do things, but the kit came with the horns, compressor, air tank, and most of the air lines and fittings. Everything you need for a BASIC install, essentially. It was a Hornblasters kit. The

Yikes! I always make sure they’re disabled when I bring the car in for an alignment or some-such. Last time, though, they asked me to enable it after they had finished so they could have some fun with it, lol.

True. It’s harder when you have a BRZ which doesn’t really have space for the horns, and are still trying to keep the trunk useful, AND want the compressor and tank and stuff to be easily removable for autocross, haha.

Now playing

I put train horns on it. Though I’d argue it’s not THAT dumb of a modification. Unlike the stock horns, people do NOT ignore these, so they’re great for getting idiots to stop merging onto you, or pulling out in front of you. I don’t go around honking them just to scare people like those assholes on the internet

I think the point here is that the X5M probably has some modicum of handling prowess, even at those speeds. The thought of needing to do even a small correction to the steering in a G63 at 145 MPH is fucking terrifying.
