Why are we calling this a crossover? Isn’t this a plain old SUV? What am I missing here?

Haha, I encountered those for the first time a few weeks ago. Not convinced they are the most intuitive, but they aren’t THAT hard to figure out, and they’re cool AF regardless, so they get a pass, lol.

Also ridiculous!

Oh, I know all that. It still doesn’t make it any less mind-boggling to me, though. Then again, my mind is still boggled by many recent events. I keep lowering my standards, and yet people continue to find ways to blow my mind with their general dumbness.

I can’t even watch people use the Dyson Hand Dryer at work any

I genuinely don’t understand people who hit something that large, which involves a noticeable impact, and a noticeable sound, and don’t bother to pull over and inspect their vehicle. ESPECIALLY if they didn’t see that large object behind them in the roadway.

I genuinely do not understand how people were able to keep

“...almost get taken out.”

Maybe you suck at making cranberry sauce? Did you bother to take the seeds out? Did you dump WAY too much sugar? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, then you suck at making cranberry sauce. If you answered “no” then your mouth sucks at tasting tasty things!

I used to drive 40' and 60' (articulated) transit buses. You can’t really look behind you anyway. You won’t see anything of value. Leaning your head out the window and looking back doesn’t really work either. Everything is more spread out than in a car, so the window is further away, and leaning while trying to brake

Literally the first phrase that came to my mind, lol.

I have to admit... yeah, if you’re rich, you can do what you want with your money... but boy does it suck reading about someone spending a half billion on this painting while staring at my $80,000 student loan debt...

You think you’re so cool with your dumb puns. Well LA-DEE-FRICKIN’-DA.

Arguably, the only reason they are WAY more likely to die from those things is because most 8 year olds don’t drive race cars... so not really a good argument. (I’m not necessarily saying they should be prevented from doing these things; just pointing out the flawed logic in your statement.)

Former transit bus driver here. Having spent a lot of time behind the wheel of a transit bus, you can imagine how much time I spent being infuriated at other idiot drivers.

But nothing ever came CLOSE to pissing me off as much as the FUCKING MORONS who would get off the bus, and just cross the street right in front of

True. I’ve done the same in a 40-foot bus. Sometimes the right turn you’re trying to make literally isn’t possible to do without going into the oncoming lane. In that case, sometimes your ONLY option is to make the turn halfway, and then just sit there until the other drivers back up or move out of the way. It’s not

I misunderstood your first comment. I thought it was directed at my t-bone example, since that’s what I’ve been getting a lot of replies about.

That has literally no bearing on anything I said. There is a very big difference between what the law states (i.e. who will receive a ticket) and what is proper defensive driving. Your employer is allowed to have whatever rules they want in place regarding what criteria would result in points on your employee safety

The idea behind my t-bone example, is that proper defensive driving involves things like scanning intersections before entering them. There have been accidents where our vehicles have been hit, and our internal investigations resulted in the driver being considered a “contributing factor” to the collision merely due

I never said that driver was blaming the autonomous vehicle. I’m just using an example to demonstrate that there is no way anyone who takes driving seriously would agree that the driverless vehicle was at fault :)

My defensive driving statement was a blanket statement regarding all sorts of accidents, such as the t-bone example. It wasn’t referring to this specific incident, in which the truck driver is entire at fault.

I never said that. My “partly to blame” statement was with regards to general defensive driving, and situations such as the t-bone example.
