I have a CDL, and I’ve driven transit buses for years. If I had hit a vehicle in the same manner, and tried to use the excuse that a normal driver would have reversed to get out of my way, and tried to impart some of the blame on the autonomous vehicle, I’d be laughed right out of the building. Or at least be sat down

Any relatively modern TV shouldn’t require anything other than a Chromecast. Your TV just needs to support HDMI CEC, which is the standard that devices use to control each other through HDMI... and most devices support that now, AFAIK. I have a several-years-old Vizio connected to my A/V Receiver, with the Chromecast

More impressive than the top speed, is how effortlessly and quickly it achieves it. Looks like there’s room for improvement with a simple swap out of 6th for something a tiny bit taller.

More subliminal advertising for their new partner next year. YOU CAN’T FOOL ME, RENAULT! I WILL NOT BE SUCKED INTO YOU... ohhh, look! A kitty! D’AWWWWW!

Question from a relative newcomer to this tech. I just moved into a townhouse with my girlfriend, and we decided to go all smart-home on it. We have three Google Homes, a Nest Thermostat and Smoke Detector, 3 Chromecasts, and a few WeMo switches.

Our next step is going to be Lutron Caseta switches.

When we first moved,

I don’t define manliness as being how fast my car is in a straight line, and neither does she :)

And you sound like someone incapable of understanding that STi isn’t actually a spaceship next to the BRZ. The only reason it gets such a high 0-60 time is because in testing, they drop the clutch from redline and use the AWD to slingshot the car to speed. In the real-world, where you need your transmission to last

You’re correct. My point was simply that she isn’t some ditzy blonde who doesn’t know what she is doing. NOTHING I say on the internet is going to convince you that she knows how to shift.

Point is, an STi is much faster than a BRZ to 60 when you drop the clutch at 6 grand and rocket it off the line using the AWD. In

Slower in a straight line... but I wreck her in corners ;)

That’s fair.

I specifically quoted one sentence from that comment in my reply. The sentence regarding the Miata.

Sorry. I’ve spent the past 20 minutes getting sucked down the rabbit hole and arguing with a bunch of idiots on this page, so I assumed you were being serious, lol.

Point is, the STi isn’t as fast in the real world as it is in tests unless you give no fucks about your car, lol.

There are a lot of things to consider, and OEMs aren’t stupid. Especially smaller companies like Subaru. Subaru isn’t like Ford or Dodge, or BMW, who can afford to make 100 versions of every car. Therefore they are very picky about what they do and don’t do, and what’s worthwhile to them.

People already complain about

My girlfriend autocrosses her car. What does your girlfriend do? Do you even do any sort of performance driving with your own car?

Most of those vehicles with multiple engine options are designed for all of those engine options from the start. That also means things like designing an interior that not only feels “sufficient” for the lower-trim car with the lower power engine, but also feels “sufficiently upscale” to make sense in the higher-tier

Nobody launches an STi the way they do to get those acceleration numbers if they intend on keeping their car for longer than a week. The BRZ, on the other hand, can lay down that 0-60 time without risking imploding the transmission. In the real world, the BRZ is not as far off as that. Especially when not starting

I’m not the OP. My comments were specifically in response to the Miata discussion.

The BRZ is WAY BETTER than a 1991 Miata. It’s WAY faster, WAY more comfortable, WAY better equipped. It’s heavier, but EVERY car is heavier these days. That’s a result of modern safety requirements, and that the BRZ is designed to be a

What does that have to do with it? All he said was that the 1991 Miatas weigh 2100 lb, and therefore it makes the BRZ look even slower .His argument was about weight, not age. At least not the way he wrote it.

Besides, even if we bring age into it, what’s the point? The BRZ is WAY faster than that 20-year-old Miata.

I never said it wasn’t faster. There’s a big difference between a few tenths to 60, and “several bus lengths” in a drag race.

Well some owners have had their cars for just shy of 5 years now. That’s not an insignificant amount of time. If you don’t like my use of the phrase “many years later” then fine. We both know how long these cars have been out - my point was not to lead you on to thinking I know people who are going on 10 years with
