It isn’t possible, because that’s not what happened. The old ad was taken down, and this was painted over in black paint literally minutes later.

I live in the area. This is just an old ad in the background when they removed the current one.
I live in Chicago. They took down an existing ad, and this is the original ad that was in the background. They painted it black shortly after this photo was taken.
If you buy a Demon for cornering, you’re doing it wrong, lol.
I’m not talking about maximum cornering G forces. I’m talking about the “nimbleness” of the car. The BRZ is much happier to quickly change directions. That’s just what happens when you have a car that weighs 500 lb less, and has a lower center of gravity. Also note that the BRZ is well known for having one of the…
Fuck people.
As an owner, I agree with you. I have pretty much NEVER used the analog speedometer. The digital speedometer is much more useful. In fact, I’m so used to it that I get frustrated when I drive a car without a digital speedo now, but at least they’re generally larger, and not so compressed as this one, lol.
The important thing to do is get a PROPER test drive. I test drove it several times before buying. One of those test drives was with an asshole salesman, who didn’t let me do anything other than take it literally around the block. We never got out of 3rd gear, or above 30 MPH. All that did was bring out all of the…
Wait, Milwaukee region? I’ve been to a few of those! Debating trying to do both Chicago and Milwaukee next year. Oh, and yes, I’m running 245/40 RE71Rs.
I’ve spoken with some pretty high people, including people who were directly involved with the development of the twins, and I was informed that it was merely a fuel economy measure. I’ll have to do more research to see if what you say is true, but I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with pre-detonation post-tune.
Apples to apples then would mean comparing a similar RWD car. One of the reasons the Cobalt SS was so inexpensive is because it is built on a generic platform, with a FWD layout which is much less expensive to produce. That’s great for what it is, but the BRZ is a bespoke, RWD platform (more expensive to design and…
That’s a fair statement. I autocross my car, so I wanted something super light and nimble.
FYI, it isn’t as easy to drop STi power in these cars as everyone believes. Yes, there are aftermarket kits that do that, but an OEM doesn’t work the same way. They tune the entire car for that power level, and the warranty the…
It’s a sports car. I relish any opportunity to redline it and row the gears. Keeps my commute interesting :)
I feel like even the transit buses I’ve driven had less of a blind spot behind their massive mirrors than this thing would, lol...
...and I’ve had entire, full-grown pedestrians hide entirely behind my mirror while I was turning before. It’s a miracle people don’t get run over more often.
I live in Chicago. Some of our on ramps appear to have been designed for Hellcats. I still have no trouble. If anything, it just makes it more fun because I get to actually rag on the car instead of simply tipping the throttle to get up to speed.
Did you literally not read anything I wrote? I just said there are people who value things OTHER than the raw numbers, and your reply was to just state more numbers.
Allow me to draw a comparison to help you understand. Did you know that a Range Rover Sport SVR is faster than your Cobalt SS to 60 MPH. And also faster…
And I guess you like fast cars that handle like boats :P
I was merely pointing out that it’s a matter of opinion. Everyone has different tastes. Just because the car isn’t as fast as you’d like it to be doesn’t mean it’s boring or slow to everyone. What’s annoying is seeing people state that the BRZ is stupid and…
What is more competitive? The BRZ/FR-S were THE car to have in C-Street until the new Miata came out. I took 1st in Chicago Region STX with my BRZ last year with just some [really soft, street-oriented] coilovers, and wider wheels and tires.
Having said that, the torque-dip is annoying, but that can be removed with a…
