The sponsored post on this site for like two weeks now has been an article about “Watch this Koenigsegg driver race his clone,” or something. Really annoying. Shows up everywhere.

I’ll be curious to know what happened here. It IS very odd given the skid marks. A seasoned test driver (which the person driving this no doubt was... I would think) would generally know better than to stay on the brakes with the front wheels locked. Maybe the brake system did freak out and just lock up the fronts.

Very

I hope it’s like, “We were already 17 seconds ahead of the P1, but we were pretty sure we could eek out another 5...” Lol.

Correct. I was just trying to answer his question regarding the benefits of a boxer engine. Redesigned or not, the EJ and FA are both boxer engines.

I would know, as my first car was an EJ25-powered Outback, and my current car is an FA20-powered BRZ :P

Per the third sentence in the linked article: “Just seven were built, including a prototype, and the original price is thought to have been 2.8 million euros (approximately $3.1 million), meaning this is likely to be the most expensive car outside of motorsport to ever crash at the Nürburgring.”

Godammit. I want to see what a Koenigsegg can do on this track more than ANYTHING else.

Correct. Low COG is one of the major selling points. Look at the Subaru BRZ (or the FR-S) and you will see how low the hood is. The engine is extremely low.
Really does suck to change the spark plugs on, though.

I bet you went looking through the comments JUST to find someone making fun of older people playing the game :P

Exactly. We’ve had issues with ours several times. From the lift springs snapping, to one of the rollers failing. They have a lot more moving parts than this one probably does, which (and I’m obviously guessing here) is basically just a hinge, a pump, and two hydraulic cylinders.

Why would he write a scathing review of the 2004 wagon? That’s the one he didn’t get locked inside of! The one he was inside of was an 05-09 model (the 2004 was the new body style in other markets, but we received it as an ‘05 because we always get everything late.)

To be fair, this is probably not that much more likely to break than your own garage door. Hydraulics have been around for a very long time, and this system doesn’t look terribly complicated.

I’m thinking supercharger for my BRZ. Not looking to make a ton of power, and a supercharger seems like it’ll produce a nice linear bump in power across the entire rev-range while also being less temperamental and requiring less work and hopefully being more reliable.

Now playing

For those who need to scratch the itch, 4:00:

So basically a Top Gear challenge!

I hate people. THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS!

My BRZ has dual injection as well. It’s not terribly uncommon.

Are you incapable of rational thought? For the umpteenth time, I did NOT say that it was OKAY in THIS CASE. I NEVER said that THIS guy’s death was NOT the trucker’s fault. I merely said that sometimes trucks pull out and block traffic because it is literally the only way for them to pull out sometimes. I’m not

Because your argument against my reasoning is based on the thought that my comment was directed towards this specific situation, which it wasn’t. In a more general sense, for example in downtown traffic, it is common practice for vehicles with right of way to allow other vehicles out from side streets if they start

Seat belts have been mandatory in the US since, like, 1991. Seat belts don’t prevent you from smashing your face on the steering column, or slamming your head against the side of the car.

Truth. I HATE being a passenger because most peoples’ defensive driving skill are seemingly non-existent. It’s why I’m usually the one driving no matter what is going on.
