I have done this, and happily. Only you know your magic number though. Eventually I wanted something else and now I am in a committed relationship that is open. We both sometimes date other people.

I’d probably tell them, not nessisarily that you’ve got your own little harem, but that you don’t consider your relationship exclusive. Some people assume exclusivity once your relationship reaches a certain point, and it would be better for everyone involved to be on the same page with that.
