I’m an everything perfectionist when it comes to academics. The synopsis alone resonates deeply with me—I guess I never considered that I’m not the only one paralyzed by the fear of disappointing advisors and family. I realized last week that idea had taken hold a little too deeply when in the middle of a brief

Thank you! This was really helpful and I appreciate your thoroughness and solid advice.

Did you experience any negative cognitive effects with its use? I’m worried it might make me foggy headed at a time I really need all the brain power I can find.

Hi everyone, stress management help needed. I’m in the midst of what is basically a several week mental breakdown due to academic stress. I have my thesis and a few other long-term projects culminating all in the course of the next few weeks and I’m totally overwhelmed. Dropping any of the projects isn’t really a

That’s generally been my experience with psychedelics as well. That being said, I know two people who ended up killing themselves in some pretty weird ways while tripping. I think it’s a bit like alcohol—I’m a silly drunk because I’m a happy silly person on the inside, but I know people who are mean/violent drunks

Does it help with actual indentation scars, or just hyperpigmentation? I’ve been trying to get rid of some mild rolling scars for years without biting the bullet and shelling out for an actual procedure like laser resurfacing.

Whoops, definitely shared the wrong link!! It looks like that was a follow up reader comment on the excellent original Atlantic piece I had intended to send you, so sorry about that. Nobody has time for misogynist douchebags, sorry for accidentally subjecting you to that. Here’s the original article :)

I don’t have much to offer you, as I have no personal experience with this, but I’m hoping this article might resonate with you. I think it gets at why there’s such a dearth of information on autism in women/girls. http://www.theatlantic.com/notes/2015/10/…

I LOVED Running Out of Time as a kid! Nobody’s ever heard of it, I’m so glad you brought it up! I liked The Giver and anything Roald Dahl all through elementary school. I really enjoy dystopian novels now, and I think that started young with children’s versions. I reread The Giver last year and all I could think was

Definitely dependent on the individual ginger. My carpet’s actually a brighter orange than my drapes, but I’ve seen gingers with totally brown pubes. I think that lighter/brighter head hair predicts matching pubes.

Given her status as a semi famous person, she could also easily crowd source some funding. There are plenty of people who would donate money to support her decision to leave that guy. She could probably get enough to buy a house in whatever flyover state she resides in.

Some of my really good friends named their daughter Juniper earlier this year. I absolutely LOVE that name! I don’t think it’s hipster nonsense (and I’ll note that their other daughter’s name is hipster nonsense so I’m not just immune). It’s something people will be familiar with and know how to spell, and has pretty,

Is there a place near you that’s open on Christmas? One of my favorite coffee shops stays open on Christmas as a place for people to come together and have a sense of community. I thought it sounded really nice—sort of like a cozy christmas coffee party where you’d probably find lots of interesting people (it’s a

I know this is a wildly impractical suggestion for a lot of people, but you should seriously just move. I had severely debilitating seasonal depression while living in New England—like slept 14+ hours per day and was totally nonfunctional. I moved to a sunnier climate 4 years ago and am still blown away by my

Okay help I want them, but Hats on Cats up there has frightened me into inaction. What kind of face is suited to cateye glasses? Is it the same kind of face that looks dumb in everything except aviators and those black rim glasses that everyone ever has?

Wait is this a rule everyone knows about? Is it because when things inevitably fail you’re left with another weird awkward facebook friendship you don’t want? Or is it because it reveals too much information right off the bat?

I think the main hypothesis is that it’s linked to serotonin dysregulation. There’s no way to even test that, much less treat it in an infant, so unfortunately even knowing the cause gets us no closer to a solution.

Fair. I’m a huge advocate of minimal showering and use of soap, but dated a guy not too long ago who gets skin fungal issues if he forgoes his daily shower or use of soap. I’ve now realized that not everyone has the luxury of being exceptionally lazy about personal hygiene, so wash away!

I would say 28 days is close to when that a totally no-poo routine would start to level out. I think it’s better to just gradually lengthen the time between washing though. 28 days without any sort of washing just leaves all that grease build up in your hair.

Yeah definitely not, and you should stay away from OTC retinoids too unless you want an alien baby with perfect skin (that result is straight from the scientific literature). You might be able to try something that uses azeaic acid. I believe those have some anti-aging effects and should be okay during pregnancy.
