I always thought the thinking was that there was less hand travel, so you could respond to shifts quicker. Also, more space in the interior is always a plus.

Same could be said for my dad (minis the lying part). The amount of times I've seen him scape his rims on the curb while parking is sad. Hell, THREE DAYS after getting his new A7 he did the same thing!
