I think maybe we assume the control panel has to be at least somewhat possible to figure out since most of us haven’t ever had an opportunity to really interact with it at all. And we probably also assume air traffic control will be way more helpful than they likely are able to be.
If this kind of thing can keep out smoke from brush fires too, it would definitely be worth it. There are days in the summer that we’d love to have the windows open, but the air quality outside is so awful that we don’t want to risk it. The pollen allergy reduction would just be a bonus.
I feel like this is a great way to start a brush fire and burn down half your town.
I try to grow all of my own salad greens and beans in my backyard. Can’t get much more local than that. A lot of other veggies are just inefficient to grow myself though. It takes months to get a bowl of broccoli and the plant takes up several square feet in the meantime.
Not a huge fan of how railroaded with story FF games have gotten over the years. I miss the early days when JRPGs just dropped you in a world and made you figure it out on your own. I don’t want to have to play for 3 hours before they decide I’ve learned the game well enough that they can set me loose, if they ever do…
Are the free games really part of the sale though? They’ve been giving away a free game every week for ages now (I’ve got a reminder on my phone so I don’t forget to grab it) and four free games over four weeks does not change this cadence in any way. At least so far they’re not even special ones, since I already had…
I did Every Plate once (the cheap one) and it really taught me a lot about how to infuse flavor into your food using cheap ingredients. Lots of roasting a whole head of garlic, lots of lemon zest.
Ever since I found an infestation of moths in a supposedly sealed cardboard container of oatmeal, and at the same time found an infestation of carpet beetles in a supposedly sealed zip bag of dried mushrooms, everything that comes into my home gets transferred into airtight glass or hard plastic containers. Haven't…
Honestly, Blizzard was long known for scrapping stuff they’d worked on for years if it wasn’t good enough internally. We weren’t expecting to get anything after Titan was canceled, so to have it turn into Overwatch was a good move on their part.
I have 315 games in my Epic library. Every single one a free game received by having a reminder on my phone go off every Thursday telling me to pick up that week’s free game. I’ve started running into duplicates -- going to pick up the week’s game to find I’ve already got it is becoming more common. The few times…
Great! I wanted to take my 6 year old daughter to see it, but she decided to wait until we could watch it at home since she hates how way-too-loud movie theaters are. After having to cover my ears any time a song started up in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 recently, I don’t really blame her.
I do this with corn all the time, because I’m not confident I grow enough of it for wind pollination to work properly. Luckily, it’s easy to just gently cut off one of the pollen spikes and use the whole thing as a paintbrush to put pollen directly onto the silks.
I remember so many days spent at the local theme park over the summer with my sister when we were in junior high. Just got a season pass and hung out there almost every day. Kinda sad that it won’t really be a thing for my daughter when she’s that age.
I do this all the time. New books are so expensive for something I’m probably only going to read once, but if I’m willing to wait, I can read it for free!
One of my earliest memories is of getting my arm dislocated at the age of 4 due to a neighbor playing with me by picking me up by the hands and swinging me around in a circle. So I can confirm that one myself.
I’d love to put up a cattle panel trellis between a couple of my raised beds, but I’m getting stuck on how to actually get one home from the store. Is there a better option than renting a moving truck?
Otherwise known as “you can’t have dessert until you’ve finished all your vegetables.”
Whenever I freeze meat, I first tightly wrap each portion in plastic wrap, then put all of the portions in a freezer bag and suck out as much air as I can before sealing it closed. I don’t like using so much single-use plastic, but that’s the lesser evil compared to food waste.
No picture of the awesome result? I would love to see it!
