If it's like the PS3, then theoretically, you could get extension cables and run any sized 'external' drive you wanted, no ?

i kind did the same thing. Last gen i use all my ps3 disk before i decide to buy a bigger one and it was a big mistake. Huge work to carry all my saves... This time in ready for the ps4. I also have a 4 tb usb3 hard drive for the xbox one.
It should since the PS3 supports SATA III* and SSD.
While I still consider PS+ to be a luxury thing I would want but cannot really justify to get for myself, I have made nothing but good experience recommending it to people on a tighter budget that just want to get plenty of games... because plenty of games is what they get.
