True, but to me a launch game is just as exciting to play because you are playing it on brand new hardware that can do things your old one can't.

Clearly you don't know what Metacritic does that is harmful to the industry. You also haven't' listened to any of Cynical Brit's videos because he makes good points. The video I have posted is another well reasoned and level headed criticism of Metacritic.

I don't always agree with him but he never did strike me as a "pompous jerk off." Just a person who puts his opinion out there and enough people care to watch it to make it profitable so there is clearly demand for that sort of thing.

Because Game Companies refusing to pay their employees based on Metacritic ratings is completely the fault of those pesky game journalists.

Jeez, the hate TB gets is really obnoxious. You can like or hate him, say he is full of himself or what ever. That is so not the point in this argument. The fact is, that a company took down his video, attacked his way to earn money, food for his family just because they don't want bad publicity.

Yup. Most of his stuff (the "WTF is..." videos) are "first-impression" videos. Some do end up practically being reviews (I think his Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons "WTF is..." qualifies as a "review", and, if memory serves, when asked whether it was or not, he replied that it was).

I never gotten the hate of TB. He always seemed very honest in his video (he always mention how much of the game he played before making the video). Most of his opinion make sense, I may disagree with some of it, but nothing that would make me hate him. It just seems like hate because he's popular.
