...the average price of a new car raised over $6,000...

Here’s a dumb question: Would you rather own a new car or a 22-year-old car?

Neutral: The Banshee in ‘88. Something about that combination of angles and curves... they did this one right.

If the body’s that clean all the way around, this thing’d almost be worth the ask as a roller.

Any unusual, intermittent sound that stops when I turn the radio down to listen for it, then only restarts when I turn the radio back up. It also only occurs when the vehicle is in motion, so stopping to listen for it doesn’t help.

Probably for the same reason automakers prefer to use “ancient” chipsets:

When justice becomes a system, it ceases to be justice.

If someone posted, “hey, what do you guys think of wedging a solid Ford 5.0 into a ‘70 MG and giving it a fairly clean interior and some custom bodywork? What would that look like?” the image of the results above is pretty much the opposite of what any sane vehicle enthusiast would come up with.

Ah, so not just any union plant, then. Makes sense. Thanks!

Is there some reason Mexican plant workers can’t be unionized? I mean, it seems like such an obvious solution that there has to be something preventing it, but I don’t know much about Mexico’s laws.

Purchasing a vehicle, and being able to afford that vehicle, are two entirely different (if related) things.

If the seller invested a thousand bucks wisely, and smoothed over the more obvious rough spots from the writeup, they could easily—judging from similar, recent listings—get double or even triple the ask here. So I wonder, “Why haven’t they done this?” and the only answer is “because a thousand bucks wouldn’t even come

Aside from the obvious, the best part is it’s on the underside of the wrist instead of the back of the hand. Guess they do some slick underhanded shifting.

For three grand, sure, take a chance. For thirteen, it’d better have a real paint job, proof of operability (especially the electrical), and about 90% less jank in the cockpit.

Guessing that’s how the GMC got air—it ramped off the front end of the 3. The Mazda’s likely got “that ain’t gonna buff out” damage on the front cap and hood, but given how high the GMC had to be to get up on the Jag, I’d imagine the GMC vaulted instead of sliding up the windshield and roof.

My pleasure. Send your brother this way: https://www.poconnor.com/ Cameron County’s in their coverage area, and (again, experience) they’re damned good at what they do. Super easy, quick, and ka-ching. No shilling, just a very pleased customer.

In TX, property tax revenue only goes to the cities—none of it goes to the state, and hasn’t since 1982, when voters shut off the spigot to the state’s coffers. A Prop. 13 “solution” wouldn’t even work because that vector is directly prohibited.

I have to admit it saves me a lot of typing when you just go ahead and put words in my mouth all on your own. Keep running with it. I’m really excited to see what I say in the next chapter.

The speed limit on I-10 in the Tucson area is 75. Not that that excuses anything, but in the middle of a clear/bright/dry day, traveling the speed limit seems a reasonable enough expectation for the average driver.

2014 CX-5 Sport. Paid $14k for it five years ago; last payment on it is in two weeks, come to think of it. KBB puts its “sweet spot” trade-in value at $13,880.
