I feel like there are also overtones of The Stanley Parable here.

I find sometimes I have a little bit of hesitation before starting a new game, even if it’s one that’s otherwise of interest. I even like seeing new lore and new takes on things. There is something genuinely complex about starting a new game, and I think it’s worth acknowledging how hard it is. You have to learn new…
Subtitles on - they are immensely helpful in picking up on dialog that overlaps noisy gameplay, as commonly happens.
Seems like this is more of a test of how well dogs read human body language vs. cats. It would be interesting to see how differently cats and dogs would act towards someone who yelled at their owner or seem physically menacing.
How can you tell Generation X failed, when literally no one ever asked us what we thought? For the most part, the media went straight from talking about what Boomers thought to what Millennials thought. “Slackers” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and all that represent a tiny slice of what our lives have been like, and…
How much longer before Google gets bored of Stadia altogether and shuts it down? I’m giving it six months maximum at this point.
In Quantum Break’s timeline, the End of Time happens on January 5, 2021, and it sounds pretty grim.
Not to mention, collecting dust is a job for a robot, not an astronaut.
The whole thing arises out of the marketing industry looking for a new way to promote products. People use adblockers and fast forward past advertisements because we all hate them, and we basically just tune them out as much as possible. And let that be a lesson!
Best guess, the spot that Odin had already scoped out in Thor: Ragnarok.
Didn’t it turn out that fully half of the online complaints about TLJ were spread by bots?
My guess is, their lawyers described for them a scenario in which someone rapes a woman and the victim sues Steam because the attacker was inspired by, or re-enacting something from, Rape Day.
Chris Sawyer has spent the last decade basically re-writing his old games from scratch for Android. He did this also with Transport Tycoon, which ate up gobs and gobs of my time back in the early 90s. This was another game he originally wrote in x86 Assembly.
I’m disappointed also that no one is talking about how Tumblr promised us they wouldn’t do this after they sold themselves to Yahoo.
4chan is, very disconcertingly, becoming a major supplier of ideas and projects on the far right. It’s not pleasant to know what they are talking about but it’s important. There’s nothing new about dehumanizing people you don’t like, but re-packaging it like this may sell the idea to someone who had rejected it before…
Wait, SOLAR observatory? Civilization-ending X-class flare on the way seems a little more likely than aliens.
Saw that again recently and I think it holds up pretty well. It’s a slow burn for sure, but the last 15 minutes are still quite effectively creepy.
