I don't think it's odd to personify animals in your personal life, but when you're a politician with a negative record on women's health issues, it doesn't come across so well to lump your dogs in the same category as your wife and daughter when you're referring to the "strong women" in your life.

I don't have any sources for you, but I came to say the same thing. Benzoyl peroxide has worked very well for me for several years now.
