I wouldn’t even say discussion requires an education. Discussion requires a willingness to understand, and that just doesn’t exist anymore. So, we will plod along, and get shouts from the margins about treating symptoms when the root cause is a cancerous black spot at the heart of our culture. Whatevs. Totes fine.

Any time we bring up guns on the site, it can lead to a lot of acrimony among commenters. I urge everyone to listen to each other, to be respectful and maybe together we can climb out of this awful predicament.

“It’s the only hope of minimizing gun violence.”  This is patently false.  And thanks for ignoring my inquiry.

Beyond (your pipedream of) a ban, what gun control measure would have prevented this instance?

Watch the left come after guns. See, I can make inane comments, too. How about we realize this is a nuanced problem with many contributing facets? Oh, that’s right, I forgot, in the echo chamber, there is no nuance.

Counterpoint: he planned ahead enough to bring a gun. Nothing about his demeanor matches the typical behavior of a spontanious rage-quit reaction. If he were planning retaliation, why do you assume he couldn’t/wouldn’t invest a couple days into building a bomb? He was clearly ready to kill himself so it’s not like

This motherfucker went from baltimore to Jacksonville with a pistol just in case he lost a game. He wouldn't have brought a pipe bomb instead? Maryland concealed carry permits are almost impossible to get so it's not like he was used to carrying one.

People are so fucking stupid.

Yeah my sister-in-law shared that stupid Facebook post which I then Snoped and posted in the comments. My SIL has no radar for fake stuff so she’s always sharing nonsense. My favorite one was about Tilapia being mutant, skinless, boneless fish not found in nature. The picture on the post was of a fish that very obvious

Your gut needs re-calibrated. Spiders eat mosquitoes, stink and Box Eldars bugs, among other pests.

who ever could have suspected that this whole thing would end in acrimony??

development. When they want a new technology there is a lot of trial and error throughout research and development. It is spendy to be the first to have said technologies that nobody else does have.

If it makes you feel better, you’re probably in some country’s nuclear footprint right now.

Yet another “why is this even an article on Kotaku?” moment.

I don’t post notes like this in Soulsborne games, nor do I find them funny... however, getting tilted enough to make a 2 page dissertation on the matter is fucking ludicrous. Go outside. Lighten up. Do literally anything else with your life.

Is it purely because it’s Trump?

I can’t see how it matters. Sewage sludge ends up in landfills, typically. Your trash ends up in landfills, typically. It’s just a more meandering journey through the sewage system.

When loading CMUs into my truck, I like to just drop them randomly from 10 feet in the air into the bed, not use a forklift to put the loaded pallet in.

But there is zero reason you couldn’t set up a perfectly safe shooting range in said backyard if you were responsible.

I’m starting to wonder if one could make a valid safety argument for having more race tracks and having them be more accessible to the public (with rules in place, of course!)
